Opportunity brief
Team & Registration
- Each team may consist of 1–4 members.
- Each team must register with a unique team/project name.
- A participant may not be part of more than one team unless permitted by the organizing committee.
- All registered team members should be present during the pitching session.
Idea Requirements
- The idea should address a real-world problem, opportunity, or challenge.
- Ideas may belong to areas such as technology, AI/ML, robotics, healthcare, education, sustainability, fintech, cybersecurity, agriculture, social innovation, or other relevant fields.
- The idea should demonstrate originality, creativity, and practical potential.
- Participants should clearly explain what makes their idea different from existing solutions.
- The idea does not necessarily need to have a working prototype, but participants should clearly explain how it can be implemented.
Pitch Format
Each team will be given a fixed amount of time, as announced by the organizers, to present its idea.
The pitch should preferably cover:
- Problem Statement
- Proposed Solution
- Target Users
- Innovation/Uniqueness
- Implementation Plan
- Technology/Resources Required
- Feasibility & Estimated Cost
- Potential Impact
- Future Scope
Judges may ask questions after the presentation.
Presentation Rules
- Teams must report to the venue before their assigned pitching slot.
- The pitch must be completed within the allotted time.
- Presentations may use PPT, prototypes, diagrams, videos, or demonstrations, subject to organizer instructions.
- Participants must bring their own presentation files and required equipment unless otherwise specified.
- Any technical issue should be reported to the event coordinator immediately.
- Teams must not intentionally disrupt another team's presentation.
Evaluation Criteria
Ideas may be evaluated out of 100 marks based on:
- Problem Identification: 15 marks
- Innovation & Originality: 20 marks
- Proposed Solution: 20 marks
- Feasibility & Implementation: 15 marks
- Market/Social Impact: 10 marks
- Scalability & Future Potential: 10 marks
- Presentation & Communication: 10 marks
- Total: 100 marks
The organizing committee may modify the weightage before the competition.
Originality & Plagiarism
- Participants must present ideas that they have developed or substantially contributed to.
- Copying another participant's idea or falsely claiming ownership may result in disqualification.
- Existing technologies, research papers, open-source resources, and references may be used where appropriate, but their sources should be acknowledged.
- Judges may ask questions to verify the team's understanding and contribution.
Disqualification
A team may be disqualified for:
- Plagiarism or deliberate misrepresentation.
- Exceeding the permitted presentation format or time after warnings.
- Providing false information.
- Unprofessional or abusive behavior.
- Interfering with another team's presentation.
- Violation of college/event rules.
- Any attempt to manipulate judging or results.
Judging & Results
- Judges' decisions regarding scores and rankings shall be final, subject to the event's official grievance procedure.
- In case of a tie, judges may conduct additional questioning or a tie-breaker pitch.
- The organizers may withhold an award if the minimum participation requirement is not met or if the judges determine that no entry meets the required standard.
Prize Clause
- The prize pool may be determined based on the final number of valid participating teams.
- If participation is significantly lower than expected, the organizers reserve the right to reduce or restructure the prize amount.
- Any significant revision to the prize structure will be communicated to participants.
- The prize structure may also be subject to sponsorship, institutional, and administrative considerations.
Final Clause
By registering for Idea Pitching, participants agree to follow these rules, the instructions of the organizing committee, and the applicable rules of the college.
The Techno Vision Organizing Committee reserves the right to make reasonable changes to the event format, schedule, judging procedure, or other arrangements when necessary for the fair and safe conduct of the competition.
