Overview
Team & Registration
- Each team may consist of 2–4 members.
- Each team must register with a unique team name.
- A participant may not be a member of more than one team.
- Participants must carry valid college/student identification if required by the organizers.
Robot Requirements
- The robot must be autonomous and follow the track without manual control.
- No remote control, Bluetooth/Wi-Fi control, or external human intervention is permitted during the run.
- The robot must be self-contained, with its own battery/power source and control system.
- Maximum robot dimensions: 30 cm × 30 cm × 20 cm (L × W × H).
- Maximum weight: 5 kg.
- The robot must not damage the track or venue.
- Participants must use safe electrical components and wiring.
Track & Competition
- The robot will follow a designated black/white line track provided by the organizers.
- The track may contain straight paths, curves, intersections, sharp turns, and other challenges.
- Participants will be given a designated inspection/calibration period before their official run.
- The robot must remain within the designated track boundaries.
- If the robot leaves the track, the team may be allowed to reposition it according to the event coordinator's instructions.
- The number of attempts/restarts will be decided by the organizers and announced before the competition.
Timing & Scoring
- The objective is to complete the track in the minimum possible time while following all rules.
- The fastest valid completion will generally receive the highest ranking.
- Penalties may be imposed for:
- Leaving the track.
- Manual assistance.
- Skipping a section of the track.
- Touching or moving obstacles/boundaries.
- Violating technical specifications.
- A run may be terminated if the robot remains stationary or loses the track for longer than the time limit specified by the organizers.
- In case of a tie, a tie-breaker run may be conducted.
Prohibited Actions
The following are strictly prohibited:
- Manual or remote control of the robot during the run.
- Receiving instructions or control signals from outside the competition area.
- Interfering with another team's robot.
- Deliberately modifying or damaging the track.
- Using unsafe components or methods that could endanger participants or equipment.
- Any form of cheating or unfair assistance.
Technical Inspection
- Every robot must pass inspection before participating.
- Organizers may inspect the robot's dimensions, weight, power system, and control mechanism.
- A robot failing to meet the technical requirements may be denied participation until the issue is corrected.
- The organizers may conduct additional inspections at any stage of the competition.
Event Authority
- The decision of the designated judges/event coordinators regarding timing, penalties, technical violations, and results shall be final, subject to the event's official grievance procedure.
- The organizers may modify the track, rules, schedule, or format if required for safety, fairness, or smooth conduct of the event.
- The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any team that violates the rules or behaves improperly.
Prize Clause
- The prize pool may depend on the final number of valid participating teams.
- If participation is substantially lower than expected, the organizers reserve the right to reduce or revise the announced prize amount.
- Any applicable change will be communicated to participants.
Safety
- Participants must follow all instructions given by event coordinators.
- Batteries and electrical components must be handled safely.
- The organizers may stop a run if the robot presents a safety risk.
- Participants are responsible for damage caused by negligent or intentional misuse of their equipment.
Final Clause
By registering for Line Follower, all team members agree to comply with these rules and any event-specific instructions announced by the Techno Vision Organizing Committee.
