Opportunity Description:

QUIZ-NOVA is an intellectually stimulating written quiz competition organized under the Atomheimer Domain by the Science Department as part of techFEST'26 at SLIET. The event aims to evaluate participants' knowledge, analytical thinking, logical reasoning, observation skills, and problem-solving abilities through a carefully designed assessment covering science, technology, and general aptitude.

Participants will compete individually in a time-bound written quiz and will be ranked based on their performance, accuracy, and time efficiency.

Eligibility;

• Open to all Diploma, Undergraduate (UG), and Postgraduate (PG) students.
• Students from any branch or discipline of recognized colleges and universities are eligible to participate.
• Participants must carry a valid college/student ID card for verification during the event.

Competition Format:

• Individual Participation.
• Written Quiz Competition.
• Duration: 45 Minutes.
• Medium: English.
• Total Questions:
• 20 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
• 5 Integer-Based Questions
• No Negative Marking.
• Blank space will be provided on the question paper for calculations.

Syllabus:

The quiz may include questions from:

• Physics (Class X, XI & XII Level)
• Chemistry (Class X, XI & XII Level)
• Mathematics (Class X, XI & XII Level)
• Logical and Analytical Reasoning
• Tech-Based General Knowledge
• Miscellaneous Topics

Evaluation & Ranking:

Participants will be evaluated using the following criteria:

• Quiz Score
• Accuracy Percentage
• Time Score Percentage

Ranking Formula:

Ranking Score = (0.7 × Quiz Score) + (0.2 × Accuracy %) + (0.1 × Time Score %)

Where:

Accuracy (%) = (Correct Answers ÷ Total Questions Attempted) × 100

Time Score (%) = ((Maximum Time − Time Taken) ÷ Maximum Time) × 100

Rewards & Recognition:

• Exciting prizes for the Top 3 Winners.
• Winner Certificates.
• Participation Certificates for all participants.

Rules & Guidelines:

• Participants must carry a valid college/student ID card.
• Mobile phones, calculators, smart watches, books, notes, or any electronic devices are strictly prohibited.
• Participants must report at least 15 minutes before the event begins.
• Any attempt to violate the competition rules may result in immediate disqualification.
• The decision of the judges shall be final and binding.
• The organizers reserve the right to modify the rules, schedule, or any aspect of the event in the best interest of the competition with prior notice.
• Participants are advised to stay updated through official notices released by the organizing committee.
• Further modifications to the problem statement or event structure may be made if required.

Registration & Participation:

Registration starts on 03 September, 2026 and ends on 25 September, 2026.

Registered participants must be present at the venue on the scheduled date and time to take part in the competition.
