All that you need to know about Jaipuria Smart City Innovation Challenge 2026
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cell of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur is proud to present the "Jaipuria Smart City Innovation Challenge 2026". This inter-institutional innovation challenge is designed to provide a platform for students to identify real-world urban and community challenges and develop innovative, sustainable, inclusive, and financially viable solutions. The challenge brings together students from management, engineering, technology, architecture, design, and commerce to encourage interdisciplinary problem-solving. By connecting participants with industry professionals, entrepreneurs, civic experts, and relevant stakeholders, the challenge aims to promote innovation, experiential learning, and solutions that can create meaningful impact in cities and communities.
Guidelines:
- Entries should clearly identify a relevant urban or community problem and its beneficiaries.
- Solutions should demonstrate innovation, feasibility, sustainability, and scalability.
- Participants are encouraged to use AI, IoT, digital platforms, data analytics, and design thinking where relevant.
- Solutions should be supported through user interaction, field observation, or secondary evidence.
- Presentations and demonstrations must be professional and clearly communicate the proposed solution.
Rules and Regulations:
- The competition is open to interdisciplinary teams of 5 students.
- Round 1 will involve screening through a concept note.
- Shortlisted teams will participate in Round 2 through a virtual presentation on Zoom.
- The top teams from Round 2 will qualify for the Grand Finale at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur.
- Teams may use app mock-ups, dashboards, physical models, or the IEC 3D Lab for demonstrations, subject to institutional norms.
Challenge Guidelines:
Participants need to develop an innovative solution covering the following:
- Problem Identification: Explain the urban/community problem, supporting evidence, beneficiaries, existing gaps, and proposed intervention.
- Solution & Impact:
- Analyse the current situation and existing solutions.
- Explain the feasibility, scalability, and implementation potential of the proposed solution.
- Demonstrate its sustainability, social impact, and technology component.
- Financial & Implementation Plan: Clearly explain the financial viability, implementation process, key activities, and resources required to take the solution from concept to execution.
- Prototype / Demonstration:
- Participants may present app mock-ups, dashboards, physical models, or other relevant prototypes to demonstrate their proposed solution.
Submission Requirements:
- Round 1 submission should be presented as a concise concept note covering the required problem and solution elements.
- Submissions should clearly and simply communicate the proposed intervention.
- Selected teams will proceed to the next round for further solution development and presentation.
Once selected, teams will refine their solutions through evidence, user interaction, or field observation before presenting them to the jury. We look forward to seeing innovative ideas that can contribute to a smarter, sustainable, and inclusive future.
