The Faultline

Event Overview:

The Faultline is a three-round, team-based HR competition that challenges participants to look beyond surface-level business performance and identify the hidden people-related issues that can make an organisation vulnerable. It focuses on HR judgement, analytical thinking, problem-solving and strategic decision-making.

Competition Format:

• Round 1 – HR Judgement Quiz: An online quiz consisting of 15 multiple-choice questions based on real-world HR situations. The top 120 teams will qualify.
• Round 2 – The Healthy Dashboard: An online case study where teams analyse three years of fictional company HR data, identify three hidden warning signs and recommend corrective actions. Submission: a 5-slide PDF. The top 20 teams will qualify.
• Round 3 – Finale: The shortlisted teams will present their solutions to a panel of judges on campus and respond to questions.

Rules & Guidelines:

• Each team must have 2–3 members.
• Cross-college and cross-specialisation teams are permitted.
• Each team must submit its own responses and case solution.
• Registration and Round 1 will be open from 7th to 15th November. Participants can register for the event and attempt Round 1 during this period.
• Round 2 submissions must be made between 17th and 25th November.
• Round 2 submissions must not exceed 5 slides in PDF format.
• Shortlisting for subsequent rounds will be based on performance in the preceding round.
• The judges' decision will be final.
• The finale is tentatively scheduled for 3rd or 4th December at Great Lakes Institute of Management, Gurgaon. The exact date will be confirmed shortly after the conclusion of Round 2.
