About the role
Crisis Committee
A crisis breaks. The clock starts. You have ONE hour.Presented by OIKONOMIA, The Economics Club, TERI SAS, Crisis Committee is a live, team-based event where every team is handed the exact same real-world crisis and given one hour to respond like a task force advising a government or regulator.Diagnose. Design. Defend. Decide. This is not a quiz or a debate. It is a practical, high-pressure test of what your team would actually do, who would implement your plan, how it would be funded, and whether your strategy survives scrutiny.Event Format & StructureThe competition takes place live on campus and runs in two sequential phases:1. Phase 1: Task Force Briefing & Solution Building (1 Hour)
- All registered teams are handed the same real-world crisis scenario on the spot.
- Your team has strictly one hour to diagnose the crisis and build a comprehensive solution.
- Your proposed solution must hold up on four fronts at once:
- Economics
- Sustainability
- Administration
- Legality
- Phase 2: Live Presentation & Defense
- Once the one-hour preparation window ends, teams must present and defend their solution.
- Teams will present before an interdisciplinary panel of faculty judges from Economics, Law, Policy, and Sustainability.
- The judging panel will cross-question every claim made by your team.
Key Questions Your Solution Must AnswerTo survive the faculty panel's cross-questioning, every team's blueprint must explicitly address four core realities:
- Action Plan: What would you actually do to resolve the crisis?
- Execution & Governance: Who would implement the solution on the ground?
- Financial Viability: How would the entire intervention be funded?
- Feasibility & Defense: Does the plan hold up across economics, sustainability, administration, and legality when put under direct scrutiny?
