Opportunity brief
We are looking for a proactive and research-oriented Agro Events & Expo Research Intern to identify and track relevant agricultural, food, commodity, export, and trade events happening across India.
The intern will be responsible for finding agro expos, food exhibitions, trade fairs, commodity exhibitions, buyer-seller meets, export/import events, agri-business conferences, government-organized trade events, and other relevant industry opportunities where our company can participate, exhibit, network, or connect with potential buyers and partners.
Responsibilities:
- Research upcoming agro expos, agricultural exhibitions, food and beverage expos, commodity trade fairs, export-import exhibitions, buyer-seller meets, agri-business conferences, and related industry events across India.
- Identify events relevant to our business, products, target markets, buyers, exporters, importers, distributors, traders, and other industry participants.
- Research important event details including:
- Event name and organizer
- Date and location
- Industry/product focus
- Exhibitor and visitor profile
- Registration and participation process
- Stall/exhibitor opportunities
- Participation fees
- Registration deadlines
- Contact person and organizer details
- Research which companies, buyers, exporters, importers, distributors, traders, associations, and industry professionals are participating or attending relevant expos and exhibitions.
- Reach out to event organizers through email, phone, LinkedIn, websites, and other channels to collect participation details and clarify requirements.
- Support the team with event registrations, exhibitor applications, visitor registrations, documentation, and participation processes.
- Maintain an organized Agro Events & Expo Calendar with upcoming events, deadlines, priority, cost, location, and relevance.
- Shortlist events based on their potential for:
- Buyer discovery
- Business networking
- Export opportunities
- Market research
- Distributor or trader connections
- Brand visibility
- Industry learning
- Prepare short summaries explaining why a particular expo or event is worth attending or exhibiting at.
- Track relevant opportunities from APEDA, FIEO, commodity boards, export promotion councils, government departments, industry associations, chambers of commerce, trade bodies, and private exhibition organizers.
Requirements:
- Strong internet research and information-gathering skills.
- Ability to research events through Google, LinkedIn, exhibition websites, government portals, trade associations, export councils, social media, and industry platforms.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable contacting event organizers and requesting information.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Google Sheets.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate event and contact information.
- Good organizational and time-management skills, especially for tracking multiple events and registration deadlines.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a startup environment.
- Willingness to learn about agro commodities, food products, exports, international trade, exhibitions, and buyer sourcing.
- Ability to understand the difference between a general event and an event that has real business potential for the company.
