Opportunity brief
Guidelines:
- Eligibility: Open to undergraduate engineering students from colleges/universities.
- Team Size: Each team must consist of 3–4 members.
- Inter-College Teams: Students from different colleges may form a team.
- Inter-Specialization Teams: Students from different engineering branches/specializations are allowed and encouraged.
- Team Registration: Each team must nominate one member as the team lead for registration and communication.
- Number of Challenges: Teams will participate in a series of hands-on engineering challenges involving construction, measurement, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis.
- Event Duration: The complete event will be conducted within 3 hours.
- Team Capacity: A maximum of 15 teams can participate.
- Challenge Format: Teams must complete the assigned engineering tasks within the given time. Each challenge may test practical engineering knowledge, observation, teamwork, measurement, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Tools and Materials: Required materials and challenge-specific equipment will be provided by the organizers unless otherwise specified.
- Evaluation: Teams will be evaluated based on successful completion of tasks, accuracy, time taken, problem-solving approach, and adherence to the instructions.
- Registration: Registration is subject to approval by the organizers. The registration fee is ₹200 per team.
- Event Venue: Ramaiah Technology Campus, Bengaluru.
- Event Dates: 14–16 October 2026. The specific event slot will be as per the official Pravrutti schedule.
Rules:
- Each team must have 3–4 members. Team members must remain the same throughout the event.
- Teams must report to the venue before their allotted reporting time and complete the required registration/check-in formalities.
- Participants must follow all instructions given by the event coordinators and judges.
- Teams must complete every challenge within the time limit specified for that challenge.
- Time management is critical; additional time will not normally be provided once a challenge deadline has passed.
- Participants must use the tools, components, and materials only for their intended purpose.
- Any intentional damage to equipment, materials, or venue property may result in disqualification and/or recovery of the damage cost.
- Teams must not interfere with another team's equipment, workspace, materials, or progress.
- Mobile phones, internet resources, calculators, or other external aids may be restricted during individual challenges. Participants must follow the instructions announced by the organizers.
- Communication and collaboration within the team are allowed, but participants must not seek unauthorized assistance from other teams or outside individuals.
- Any form of cheating, plagiarism, tampering, or unfair assistance will result in disqualification.
- Participants must maintain proper safety practices while handling tools, components, machines, and other equipment.
- Safety instructions given by coordinators must be followed at all times. Failure to follow safety instructions may lead to immediate removal from the challenge.
- Judges' decisions regarding task completion, scoring, penalties, and qualification will be final.
- In case of a tie, the organizers may use completion time, accuracy, or performance in designated tie-breaker tasks to determine the final standings.
- The organizers reserve the right to modify the sequence, difficulty, or specific requirements of a challenge if necessary for safety or smooth conduct of the event.
- Participants must behave respectfully toward coordinators, judges, volunteers, other teams, and venue staff.
- Any misconduct or violation of event rules may lead to penalties or disqualification.
- The event is designed to test engineering creativity, practical skills, teamwork, troubleshooting ability, and time management.
- The final decision of the event coordinators and judges will be binding.
