Opportunity brief
Guidelines:
- Eligibility: The event is open to college students participating as a team.
- Team Size: Each team must consist of 2–4 members.
- Inter-college teams: Allowed, subject to the organisers' approval.
- Inter-specialization/branch teams: Allowed. Team members may belong to different engineering specializations/branches.
- Robot Type: Each team must design and operate a student-built combat robot with a maximum weight of 8 kg.
- Event Format: The competition follows a single-elimination knockout format.
- Match Duration: Each battle lasts 3 minutes.
- Capacity: The event can accommodate a maximum of 16 teams.
- Event Duration: The overall event is scheduled for approximately 3 hours.
- Registration: Registration requires organiser approval. The registration fee is ₹200 per team, paid online by the team lead.
- Competition Date: 14–16 October 2026 at Ramaiah Technology Campus, Bengaluru.
- Robots may use different combat mechanisms such as spinners, flippers, crushers, or other permitted mechanisms.
- Teams are responsible for bringing their robot in competition-ready condition.
- Participants must follow the official technical and safety requirements specified in the event rulebook.
Rules:
- Each team must have 2–4 participants.
- Only one combat robot per team may participate in a match.
- The maximum permissible robot weight is 8 kg.
- Every robot must comply with the technical, mechanical, electrical and safety requirements specified by the organisers.
- Matches will be conducted in a single-elimination format.
- Each match will have a maximum duration of 3 minutes.
- Victory will be determined based on factors such as damage, aggression and control during the battle.
- Robots must be operated only by the designated team members.
- Teams must complete safety inspection/verification before entering the arena.
- Any robot or mechanism considered unsafe by the organisers may be disqualified or prevented from participating.
- Teams must not intentionally interfere with another team's control system or use prohibited methods to damage the opponent.
- Participants must follow the instructions of the event coordinators, referees and technical officials at all times.
- Unsportsmanlike behaviour, misconduct or violation of safety instructions may result in penalty or disqualification.
- The referee/organising committee's decision regarding match results and rule violations will be final.
