Opportunity brief
About The Event:
- A high-stakes cybersecurity tournament that tests participants across three competitive stages, transitioning from general domain knowledge to practical code-breaking and strategic decision-making.
- Organized to evaluate digital security awareness, analytical problem-solving, and composure under pressure, teams battle through quiz rounds, real-world cipher/phishing challenges, and an interactive grid showdown.
Round-wise Details:
Round 1: Cyber Scan (Cybersecurity Quiz):
- Format: Screening Quiz (~20 Questions).
- Mechanism: Teams answer a range of cybersecurity questions spanning foundational awareness, threat terminology, security protocols, and domain principles.
- Selection: The Top 20 teams advance to Round 2.
Round 2: Threat Trace (Practical Decryption & Phishing Audit):
- Format: Time-limited pen-and-paper practical sprint.
- Section A (Decrypt): Teams solve 5 progressive decoding challenges involving Caesar ciphers, Morse code, binary, substitution, emoji ciphers, or QR/image clues—where answers may unlock subsequent clues.
- Section B (Phishing): Teams audit 5 realistic digital communications (emails, SMS, Discord messages, login pages) to identify red flags and classify them as PHISHING or LEGIT.
- Selection: The Top 5–7 teams advance to the Grand Finale.
Round 3: Cyber Grid (Strategic Buzzer Grid Battle):
- Format: Interactive category grid & buzzer round.
- Mechanism: The remaining finalist teams compete across 6 cybersecurity categories containing questions with varying point values selected via a wheel-spinning mechanism.
- Gameplay: Teams press the designated buzzer to earn answering rights. A correct answer yields the full question value, while an incorrect response or pass incurs negative points. The team with the highest cumulative score wins the championship.

- If passed or answered incorrectly, the opportunity moves to the next fastest team.
- Negative marking applies for incorrect answers or passed opportunities after buzzing.
Fair Play & Security Integrity:
- Sharing answers or collaborating with opposing teams is forbidden.
