Opportunity brief

About The Event:

  • Campus Scavenger Mystery is an immersive team-based game combining campus exploration, clue-solving, strategy, social deduction, and murder mystery.
  • Guided by TEDx-inspired storytelling, teams navigate distinct routes across campus, solve mini-challenges, and piece together evidence to deduce WHO, WHERE, and HOW the murder took place.

United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  • SDG 4: Quality Education — Promotes critical thinking, observation, and complex problem-solving.
  • SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions — Emphasizes evidence-based reasoning, deduction, and analytical decision-making.
  • SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals — Fosters teamwork, strategic collaboration, and peer coordination under pressure.

Round Wise Details:

Round 1: Campus Scavenger Mystery:

  • Format: Multi-scenario team-based campus hunt.
  • Mechanism: Teams follow strictly assigned routes, uncovering clues and solving physical/analytical mini-challenges along the way. The final clue leads teams to "The Switch"—a fast-paced activity based on participation/performance where top-performing teams qualify for the next stage.
  • Timeline: Route Allocation → Clue Hunt → Final Clue → The Switch → Qualification.

Round 2: Clues of the dead

- Format: Quiz-based strategic mystery & auction round. -

Mechanism:

- Phase 1 (The Quiz): Qualified teams compete in a quiz covering UN SDGs and technical concepts to build their budget. Correct answers earn fictional currency weighted by question difficulty. - Phase 2 (The Auction): Teams use their earned currency to bid on auctioned mystery evidence clues, strategically deciding which evidence is worth their budget. The highest bidder wins each evidence piece. - Phase 3 (Investigation & Defense): Using their collected evidence, teams connect the dots to establish the WHO, WHERE, and HOW/WHY of the murder and submit their case.

- Timeline: Quiz → Earn Currency → Evidence Auction → Investigation → Final Submission.

Rules And Guidelines:

  • Eligibility & Team Size: Open to college students and external participants. Teams must consist of 3 to 5 members.
  • Identification: All participants must carry a valid student/college ID card.

Round 1 Conduct:

  • Teams must stick together at all times during the hunt.
  • Teams must follow only their assigned route and organizer instructions.
  • Props and clues must not be moved, damaged, or tampered with under any circumstances.
  • External assistance or help from non-participants is strictly prohibited.

Round 2 Currency & Auction Rules:

-

- Fictional currency is earned exclusively through correct answers in the SDG + technical quiz. - Bids are final once placed and cannot be withdrawn, modified, or transferred between teams.

Winning Criteria:

  • The first three teams to submit correct answers for all three components (WHO, WHERE, HOW) win.
  • In the event of ties, completion time or tie-breaker scenarios will determine the rank.

Safety & Code Of Conduct:

  • Cheating, clue manipulation, or disruptive behavior results in immediate disqualification.
  • Keep the drama inside the game—accusations are encouraged, physical fights are not!

Final Authority:

- The decision of the organizers and judges is final and binding.
