Opportunity brief

Social Transformers — Where Business Meets Social Impact

Can a business be both profitable and purposeful?

Social Transformers is a Business Plan (B-Plan) competition that challenges aspiring entrepreneurs to develop ventures that address genuine social problems while demonstrating strong business fundamentals.

Teams of 2–3 members will submit a written business pitch outlining the social problem, proposed solution, and preliminary business model. The Top 10 teams will be shortlisted for an offline finale featuring three challenging rounds designed to test clarity, adaptability, resilience, and execution.

Competition Format

Online Submission → Screening & Selection → Offline Finale

Round 1 — Reverse Pitch

Think critically about your own idea before selling it.

Shortlisted teams must first identify the flaw or weakest link in their business idea, followed by a pitch explaining the social problem they address and their proposed solution.

Evaluates: Self-awareness, clarity of thought, and conviction.

Round 2 — Crisis Curveball

Business plans rarely survive exactly as expected.

Teams will receive a sudden real-world crisis or constraint, such as a funding cut, supply shock, regulatory change, or natural disaster. They must adapt their business plan in real time and present a workable response.

Evaluates: Agility, resilience, strategic thinking, and problem-solving.

Round 3 — Final Presentation

Teams present their revised business plan to the judging panel through a PPT covering:

  • Problem
  • Solution
  • Business Model
  • Social Impact
  • Financials

Teams will have a revision window between Rounds 2 and 3 to incorporate their responses to the earlier challenges.
