Opportunity brief
Overview
- DATAVIZ is a technical Data Visualization Challenge conducted as part of DATAKON'26 by the DSBS Students Association, SRM Institute of Science and Technology.
- The event challenges participants to understand datasets, identify meaningful patterns, and communicate insights through effective visualizations. The competition consists of two progressive rounds.
- In Round 1, participants receive six datasets, select one dataset, analyze it, and create meaningful visualizations highlighting trends, comparisons, relationships, and insights within the given time limit.
- Shortlisted teams proceed to Round 2, where they work with live or dynamically updated datasets and may be required to perform data cleaning, filtering, aggregation, real-time updates, and interactive visualization.
- Participants must use only approved software and resources.
- Pre-built dashboards, data misrepresentation, interference with other teams, and unauthorized tools are not permitted. Teams must complete the assigned tasks within the prescribed time limits.
- Disqualification may occur for unauthorized tools, data manipulation, database interference, repeated rule violations, misconduct, or exceeding time limits.
- Exact timings, permitted software, internet usage permissions, dataset access details, and Round 2 database information will be announced by the organizers.
