Opportunity brief

About Motion Education: Motion Education Pvt. Ltd. is one of India's leading coaching institutes for JEE (Main + Advanced), NEET, and Foundation (Class 6 – 10) exam preparation. Through the Motion Learning App and our national network of offline centres, we help students crack India's toughest entrance examinations. Our content team produces educational and promotional videos daily across YouTube, Instagram, and in-app formats — reaching a fast-growing base of students, parents, and educators. We are hiring a Video Editing Intern to strengthen this content engine. Role Overview: You will edit short-form and long-form videos for Motion's YouTube and Instagram channels — covering concept lectures, faculty highlights, student success stories, course launches, motivational content, and campaign creatives. This is a hands-on role where your edits will reach lakhs of JEE and NEET aspirants across India. You will work closely with the content, design, scriptwriting, and social media teams — turning raw classroom, studio, and campaign footage into polished, platform-ready content on tight timelines. Key Responsibilities: Edit YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels (15 – 90 sec) — build strong hooks, pacing, on-screen captions, and subtitle sync. Edit long-form YouTube videos (5 – 30 min) — lecture cuts, revision series, result specials, faculty interviews, and testimonial stories. Cut and repackage classroom / studio footage into consumable short clips — concept snippets, doubt hooks, one-shot explainers. Create promotional videos for course launches, discount offers, results, and offline centre campaigns. Add motion graphics, lower-thirds, on-screen text, chapter markers, and animated transitions to elevate production quality. Sync bilingual (Hindi / English) captions and subtitles; ensure accuracy of technical terms — formulas, chapter names, faculty names. Optimise videos for platform-specific aspect ratios: 9:16 (Reels / Shorts), 16:9 (YouTube), 1:1 (feed). Manage project files, versioning, backups, and export presets across ongoing projects. Coordinate with design, script, and social media teams for on-time delivery against campaign calendars. Types of Content You Will Edit: Faculty-led concept explainers — Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths Shorts. Student success stories — JEE / NEET rank holder testimonials, journey videos. Course launch & offer promos — new batch, scholarship, discount campaign edits. Motivational & exam-prep reels — study tips, aspirant mindset, prep timelines. Long-form YouTube lectures — chapter revisions, full topic walkthroughs, doubt sessions. In-app hero videos — banner clips, feature explainers, push-notification loops. Result-day & rank announcement creatives — high-visibility, quick-turnaround edits. Required Skills: Must-Have: Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro — at least one. Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects for motion graphics, text animation, and transitions. Comfort with audio editing — noise reduction, level balancing, background music selection. Understanding of platform formats and aspect ratios (9:16, 16:9, 1:1) and their edit conventions. Ability to write engaging on-screen captions and match subtitle timing accurately. Strong sense of pacing, hook, and story arc for short-form content. Familiarity with current Instagram / YouTube trends, trending audio, and edit styles. Basic thumbnail design skills — Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or Figma. Bonus (Nice to Have): Portfolio of EdTech, coaching, or education content edits. Familiarity with the JEE / NEET syllabus or coaching context — helps spot hook-worthy moments. Hindi language editing skills — reading, subtitle timing, proofing. Experience with colour grading (LUTs, DaVinci Resolve colour page). Familiarity with YouTube Studio, YouTube Shorts analytics, or Instagram Insights. Basic channel branding knowledge — intro / outro templates, brand kits. Qualifications: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mass Communication, Film Studies, Media, or a related field — OR a self-taught editor with a strong portfolio. Ability to work full-time from the Bengaluru office (on-site, no remote). A portfolio/showreel of 3 – 5 edited videos is mandatory for shortlisting. Committed availability of a minimum of 3 months, with willingness to extend based on performance. What You Will Get: Hands-on experience editing content watched by lakhs of students across India. Exposure to end-to-end content production for one of India's leading JEE / NEET coaching brands. Certificate of Internship on successful completion.
