Team Composition
Each team must consist of 1 to 3 members. The members will represent their assigned country in the following roles:
- Foreign Minister (FM)
- Economic Advisor (EA)
- Finance Minister (FinM)
Each member is expected to actively contribute to the presentation, discussion, counter-questioning, and defence of their country's position.
Round 1: Preliminary Quiz
A preliminary online elimination quiz will be conducted on 15 September through the Unstop platform.
- The quiz must be attempted by the Team Leader only.
- The quiz will consist of 30 questions to be completed within 20 minutes.
- Only the selected teams, based on their performance in the quiz, will qualify for the Offline Round.
Country Allotment
- Following the selection of teams for the Offline Round, participating teams will be allotted their respective countries by the Organising Committee.
- Once allotted, the assigned country will be final and binding, and no requests for a change of country will be entertained.
Common Economic Agenda
A common economic agenda or problem statement will be provided to all participating countries.
Each team must analyse the given issue from the perspective of its assigned country and develop a practical and economically feasible solution, considering factors such as:
- Economic interests
- Available resources
- Government policies
- International relations
- Trade and financial position
- National priorities
Presentation Format
Each team must prepare a PowerPoint Presentation of a maximum of 8 content slides, excluding the Title Slide and Conclusion/Closing Slide.
The presentation should clearly cover:
- Understanding of the economic problem
- Impact of the issue on the assigned country
- Country-specific analysis and position
- Proposed solutions and policies
- Implementation strategy
- Financial and economic feasibility
- Expected outcomes
Presentation Time
- Each team will be given 4 minutes to present its solution and country's position.
- A bell or time signal will be given at the completion of the allotted time.
- Participants must conclude their presentation immediately upon receiving the signal.
Counter-Questioning & Surprise Element
- Following the presentation, teams will participate in a counter-questioning round.
- A surprise element may also be introduced during the event. The nature, rules, and mechanism of this element will not be disclosed in advance and will be revealed on the day of the event.
- Participants must be prepared to respond to unexpected economic developments, policy changes, situations, or instructions announced by the Organising Committee.
- The decision of the Organising Committee regarding the surprise element will be final and binding.
Judges' Question & Answer Round
Following the counter-questioning round, the presenting team will face the Judges' Question & Answer Round for 2 minutes.
The judges may ask questions regarding:
- Economic analysis
- Proposed policies and solutions
- Financial feasibility
- Implementation strategy
- Data and research
- Assumptions made by the team
- Expected economic outcomes
Time Management
Strict time limits will be followed throughout the event.
The total time allocated to each team will be 10 minutes, divided as follows:
- 4 minutes – Presentation
- 4 minutes – Counter-questioning and Surprise Element
- 2 minutes – Judges' Question & Answer Round
Participants must adhere strictly to the time limits. The Coordinator's time signal will be considered final.
Research & Data
- Teams are expected to use accurate, credible, and relevant economic data while preparing their presentations.
- All statistics, reports, policies, research findings, or external information used should be obtained from reliable sources and appropriately referenced wherever required.
- Participants will be solely responsible for the accuracy and authenticity of the information presented.
Country Representation
- Throughout the event, participants must represent the economic interests, policies, and national perspective of their assigned country.
- Arguments, counter-questions, and proposed solutions must be presented from the standpoint of the assigned country rather than personal opinions.
Presentation & Professional Conduct
All participants must maintain professionalism, discipline, clarity, and respectful conduct throughout the event.
Teams are encouraged to strongly defend their country's economic interests and challenge the arguments or policies presented by other countries. However, the following will not be tolerated:
- Personal attacks
- Offensive or discriminatory remarks
- Inappropriate language
- Disrespectful behaviour towards participants, judges, coordinators, or the Organising Committee
Any inappropriate conduct may result in penalties or disqualification, as decided by the Organising Committee.
Presentation & Technical Requirements
- Teams must ensure that their PowerPoint Presentation is complete, functional, and ready before their scheduled presentation.
- Participants are advised to carry a backup copy of their presentation.
- No changes will be permitted after the final submission deadline unless specifically approved by the Organising Committee.
Evaluation Criteria
Teams will be evaluated by the Judging Panel on the basis of:
- Economic understanding and analysis
- Relevance to the assigned country's position
- Quality and feasibility of proposed solutions
- Country-specific strategy
- Research and use of data
- Presentation and communication
- Counter-questioning and defence
- Performance during the Judges' Round
- Ability to respond to the Surprise Element
Final Decision
The decision of the Judging Panel and Organising Committee regarding evaluation, scoring, penalties, qualification, or any other matter related to the event will be final and binding.
