Overview
Decode the Problem. Design the Solution.
Comm-E-Con is an economic communication and problem-solving competition where teams transform complex economic issues into practical, creative, and evidence-based solutions.
Participants will be assigned an economic indicator/problem and must research the issue, understand its causes and impact, identify key stakeholders, and develop a clear, feasible strategy for solving it. The final solution will be communicated through a digital poster, combining economic analysis with creativity and effective visual communication.
What Teams Will Do
- Analyse the assigned economic issue and its root causes.
- Identify the key stakeholders affected by the problem.
- Support their analysis with reliable economic data and evidence.
- Develop a practical and implementable solution.
- Present a clear strategic roadmap explaining how the solution can be implemented.
- Define measurable success indicators/KPIs to evaluate the impact of the proposed solution.
- Communicate the entire idea through an engaging and informative digital poster.
Presentation
Teams will get 10 minutes in total:
- 5 minutes – Team Presentation
- 3 minutes – Judges' Q&A
- 2 minutes – Opponents' Q&A
Participants must be prepared to defend their research, data, assumptions, solution, implementation strategy, and expected outcomes.

- Dress Code: Formal with Blazer Mandatory
Teams will be evaluated on economic understanding, quality of research, data usage, feasibility of the solution, strategic thinking, creativity, communication, poster quality, and Q&A performance.
