Opportunity brief

Overview

A national-level case competition under Agrifest 2.0, designed to challenge undergraduate students through a real-world business case involving strategic decision-making, agri-business, operations, finance, and brand risk.

Description

The Sutlej Reckoning presents participants with a comprehensive business case based on Sutlej Harvest Foods Ltd. (SHFL), a fictional agri-business operating across grain trading, flour milling, branded foods, farm inputs, and a data platform.

Participants will face a live product-quality crisis, working-capital pressure, operational challenges, procurement decisions, brand-risk concerns, and a strategic Board-level decision about the future direction of the business.

Participants must analyse the case, identify the key issues and hidden values within the case, make strategic and quantitative decisions, and develop a clear recommendation for the Board.
