Guess the QTech

About the Opportunity:

• Guess the QTech is a team-based buzzer competition that challenges participants to identify quantum technologies and applications from clues, descriptions, images, features, and real-world use cases.
• Teams will be presented with clues related to a particular quantum technology. Participants must identify the technology and explain the quantum concept or principle behind it.
• The competition combines quick thinking, technical knowledge, teamwork, and rapid decision-making. Teams must respond quickly using the buzzer while ensuring that their answers are technically accurate.
• Questions may cover areas such as quantum computing, quantum sensing, quantum communication, quantum cryptography, quantum simulation, and other quantum-technology applications.

Duration: 60 minutes

Rules & Guidelines

• Each team must consist of 5 participants.
• Teams must occupy their assigned positions before the competition begins.
• Only the team that activates the buzzer first will be eligible to answer the question.
• The quizmaster will determine which team activated the buzzer first.
• Once selected, the team must provide its answer within the announced response time.
• The team must first identify the quantum technology being described.
• Where specified by the quizmaster, the team must also identify or explain the quantum principle behind the technology.
• Only one final answer will be accepted from a team for each question.
• Answers cannot be changed after being declared final.
• Audience prompting or assistance to teams is not permitted.
• Teams must not use mobile phones, internet searches, or unauthorized reference materials during the competition.
• Any form of malpractice or deliberate interference with the buzzer system may result in disqualification.
• The decision of the quizmaster and organizing committee regarding buzzer order, answer validity, and scoring will be final.
