Opportunity brief
Spektra Systems is hiring for the role of AI-Native Software Engineer – Trainee!
Responsibilities of the Intern:
- Break small requirements into clear, agent-ready specs with acceptance criteria and test cases. You'll take on larger features as you grow.
- Use AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and Copilot agents to implement work in one or more of these areas:
- Review agent output before raising a pull request. Check that it works, handles edge cases, and doesn't introduce obvious security problems. Then go through code review with senior engineers and learn from their feedback.
- Get agents to write tests (unit, integration, and Playwright end-to-end) and learn to tell a test that proves something from one that just passes.
- Build and update marketing pages while keeping each brand's voice and design consistent. You'll learn our design system and the basics of technical SEO along the way.
- Help build small AI agents and automations that remove manual work across the business.
- Note where agents repeatedly go wrong, and help improve AGENTS.md, skills, and templates so they do better next time.
- Ship through CI/CD to QA and production on Azure, and help investigate and fix issues after release.
- Write clear PR descriptions and short notes on what you built and why
Requirements:
- A good grasp of programming fundamentals in at least one language, such as TypeScript/JavaScript, C#, or Python.
- A basic understanding of how the web works, including HTTP, REST APIs, HTML/CSS, and relational databases and SQL.
- Hands-on experience using at least one AI coding tool (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Copilot, or similar) to build something real, even if it was a personal or college project.
- Curiosity about why the agent's code works, not just whether it runs.
- Basic git, including commits, branches, and pull requests.
- Clear written English. You'll write specs, prompts, and PR descriptions every day.
- Comfort with feedback. Most of your early work will be critiqued and reworked, and that's how you'll learn fastest
