Overview:
Marathon Madness is a competitive running event under Aarambh'26 at SLIET Longowal. It brings together students for an exciting display of endurance, determination, discipline and physical fitness across multiple race categories.
Event Details:
- Date: 23/09/2026 (Wednesday)
- Time: 4:00 P.M.
- Venue: Auditorium
- Categories: 3 KM, 5 KM, 10 KM (exact distances & start times decided by organizers)
- Route: Designated route within/around campus with distance markers, direction signs & volunteer checkpoints
- Participation: Individual (separate registration per category)
Judgement Criteria:
- Completion Time – Total time from flag-off to finish line
- Adherence to Route – Following marked route & checkpoints without shortcuts
- Endurance & Pace Management – Consistency of pace and stamina across full distance
- Discipline & Sportsmanship – Fair play and respect for all
- Overall Conduct – Composure, safety awareness and race completion within guidelines
Rules & Regulations:
- Individual participation; separate registration required
- Valid college ID mandatory; must be registered before event
- Report at starting point at least 15 minutes before flag-off
- Only registered participants allowed; no running under multiple registrations
- Must stay within marked route at all times; deviation may lead to disqualification
- Race marshal & committee decisions on timing/results are final
- Carry water & wear appropriate running gear; organizers not responsible for personal injury from negligence
- Abusive behaviour, obstructing runners, property damage or disrespect = immediate disqualification
- Maintain discipline & cleanliness along route
- In case of rain/unavoidable circumstances, organizers may reschedule/shorten/modify race
Certification Policy:
- Participation certificates for registered participants (subject to event policy)
- Certificates of excellence/prizes for category winners & other award categories
Important Note:
- Open to students of all eligible branches/departments
- Race distance, route, timing & format subject to change based on registrations & availability
- Official Aarambh'26 organizing committee instructions are final
- Participants responsible for reporting on time & following all instructions
