Opportunity brief

Overview:

Pitch your cutting-edge startup ideas to capture industry attention and compete among tomorrow's tech leaders.

Event Structure:

The competition will begin with online registration through Unstop. Registered teams will submit their required details and pitch deck through the designated submission process.

Based on the submitted pitch decks, the Top 30 teams will be shortlisted for the final pitching round at Sahyadri College of Enginnering & Management on 12 November 2026.

Shortlisted teams will then present their startup ideas before the judges within the given time frame.

Competition Rounds:

Round 1 – Online Registration & Shortlisting:

  • Register through Unstop.
  • Submit the required team details and pitch deck.
  • All submissions will be evaluated based on the judging criteria.
  • Top 30 teams will be shortlisted for the final round.

Round 2 – Final Pitch Presentation:

  • Shortlisted finalists will pitch live in front of our expert panel of judges.
  • Time Limit: 4 minutes to pitch + 3 minutes for Q&A.
  • Keep it concise! Teams must stick strictly to their allotted time.
  • Finals Fee: Shortlisted teams must pay a ₹150 finalist fee to participate in the final pitching round.
  • Date: 12 November 2026
  • Timings: 10 AM

  • Mode: Online
  • Platform: Unstop
  • Team Size: 2–4 Participants
  • Registration Fee: As specified on the Unstop registration page.
  • Finalist Fee: ₹150 per shortlisted team

What to Include in Your Pitch Deck:

Every participating team needs to craft a compelling pitch deck (slide presentation).

A prototype or demo is optional but encouraged.

Prototypes can be built using tools such as:

  • Figma
  • Canva
  • Web/mobile application frameworks
  • Other suitable prototyping platforms

The pitch must clearly explain:

  • Problem Statement
  • Your Solution / Innovation
  • Target Market & Ideal Customers
  • Business Model
  • Revenue Model
  • Technology Stack Used
  • Competitor Analysis
  • Unique Value Proposition / Differentiation
  • Future Roadmap & Growth Plan

How You'll Be Judged:

1. Business Viability & Feasibility – 25 Points:

  • A well-defined, sensible business model
  • Realistic market potential and growth opportunities
  • Strong understanding of your target audience
  • Clear strategies for generating revenue
  • Real-world practicality of the solution

Show us that your idea isn't just great on paper—it has what it takes to become a sustainable business!

2. Innovation & Novelty – 20 Points:

Here's what we're looking for:

  • Fresh, creative approaches in concept or design
  • Clear differentiation from existing market solutions
  • Out-of-the-box creativity
  • Innovative problem-solving techniques

Demonstrate how your product brings a genuinely novel approach to solving the problem.

3. Market Relevance – 20 Points:

Here's what we're looking for:

  • Strong alignment with current market needs and trends
  • High relevance of the identified problem
  • Deep understanding of customer pain points and needs
  • Demonstrated demand for such a product
  • How effectively you tackle a real, pressing issue
  • Technology Integration – 20 Points:

Here's what we're looking for:

  • Effective and smart use of tech tools/frameworks
  • Relevance of chosen technology to the problem
  • Quality of technical execution
  • How seamlessly technology enhances the user experience and solution
  • Presentation Quality – 15 Points:

Here's what we're looking for:

  • Clear messaging and structure
  • Confident delivery
  • Strong communication skills
  • Audience engagement
  • Overall polished quality of the pitch
  • Ability to hook the audience and convey your vision within the time limit

Participant Guidelines:

  • All teams must register via Unstop to officially enter the competition.
  • Make sure to upload your completed pitch deck and team details during registration.
  • Only registered teams with submitted materials will move on to shortlisting.
  • The Top 30 teams will advance to the final pitching round.
  • Shortlisted finalists will receive prompt notifications and next steps for the final presentation.
  • Shortlisted teams must pay a finalist fee of ₹150 to participate in the final round.
  • Prepare a neat, engaging pitch deck.
  • A prototype or interactive demo is optional but strongly encouraged (use Figma, Canva, web/mobile app frameworks, etc.).
  • Your pitch should clearly detail your problem statement, solution, target market, business/revenue model, tech stack, competitors, unique differentiators, and roadmap.
  • Be ready to answer tough and exciting questions from our judges right after your pitch!
  • Please respect everyone's time and stick strictly to the presentation clock.

Ground Rules:

  • All event registrations must go through Unstop.
  • Each team may submit only one entry.
  • All work and ideas submitted must be the original work of team members.
  • Strictly follow the presentation time limit: 4 minutes for the pitch + 3 minutes for Q&A.
  • Shortlisting depends on the quality of submitted pitch decks and evaluation criteria.
  • The Top 30 teams will move on to pitch live in the finals.
  • Treat judges, organizers, and fellow competitors with professionalism and respect at all times.
  • Plagiarism, dishonesty, or misrepresentation will result in immediate disqualification.
  • Organizers reserve the right to update schedules or guidelines if necessary.
  • The decision of the judging panel is final and binding.
