Opportunity brief
Build Your Web challenges students to design and develop functional, innovative, and visually appealing websites. Participants will receive a theme on the spot, ensuring a fair and level playing field.
This event fosters creativity, collaboration, and technical proficiency while offering participants hands-on experience in full-stack web development — a great addition to any portfolio.

Event Structure:
Theme Reveal: The competition theme will be announced at the start of the event
Attendance & Verification:
- Each team must have at least one member join the Google Meet for the first hour for QR code scanning and attendance verification.
GitHub Monitoring:
- Teams must share their GitHub repository link with the event coordinators at the start.
- Commits are required every 2 hours (e.g., at 11 AM, 1 PM, and final submission at 3 PM).
- Lack of commits may result in penalties or disqualification.
Development Time:
- Participants will design and build their websites within the 5-hour time limit.
Evaluation:
- Judges will evaluate projects based on creativity, functionality, UI/UX design, technical implementation, and presentation.
Submission:
- Final code must be pushed to GitHub before the deadline.
- Optional: Teams may provide a short video walkthrough/demo of their project.
Event Specific Rules:
- AI Tools Allowed: Participants may use AI tools for idea generation, brainstorming, and exploring approaches.
- No No-Code Tools: Drag-and-drop platforms like Wix Studio, Webflow, or similar builders are strictly prohibited.
- Front-End Tech Stack: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and optional frameworks/libraries like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Back-End Tech Stack: Node.js, Python (Flask/Django), or PHP.
Databases allowed: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Firebase.
Rules:
- Participants must carry their college ID cards.
- Arrive at the venue at least 15 minutes before the event for check-in.
- Late entries or walk-ins will not be entertained, and registration will be canceled.
- Registration fees are non-refundable under any circumstances.
