Opportunity brief

See the pattern. Price the odds. Beat the clock.

Priors Weekly Contest #1 is a short, rated online contest in the skills trading firms test in interviews: reading data at a glance and pricing uncertainty under time pressure. Everyone plays exactly the same rounds at the same time, and your place earns you a contest rating, much like a Codeforces round.

How it works:

  • Stage 1: Guess the correlation (60 seconds). Scatter plots appear one after another. Call each one's correlation before the clock runs out.
  • Stage 2: Make a market (90 seconds). Quote a bid and an ask on dice, coin and card contracts. Get the fair value inside your spread, and keep it tight.
  • The stages run back to back, about 3 minutes in total.
  • Answers stay hidden until the contest closes. Then you see the full leaderboard, the podium, your own answers next to the truth, and your rating.

When: Saturday, 31 October 2026, 7:00 PM IST. Entry is open for the first 5 minutes only, so be on time.

Eligibility: Open to everyone: students from any college or year, and working professionals. Guests can play, but sign in (email, Google or GitHub) to get a rating. A contest is rated once at least 5 signed-in players take part.

How to take part:

  • Before Saturday, warm up on the two games at priorslab.com. It's free, with no sign-up needed to practise.
  • Join at 7:00 PM IST on Saturday.

Why play:

  • Practice that feels like a trading interview, under a real clock.
  • A rating and a rank (Rookie to Grandmaster) that grows with every weekly contest.
  • A round-by-round review of your answers against the truth.

Rewards: Contest rating and a spot on the public leaderboard.
