Bid2Build:

Eligibility and Team Formation:

  • Eligibility: Undergraduate Students.
  • Team size: 3-4.
  • Participants from different colleges may form a team: Allowed.
  • Participants from different branches or specialisations may form a team: Allowed.
  • Each participant may be part of only one team.

Competition Format:

  • Mode: Offline.
  • Venue: Plaksha University.
  • Number of rounds: 3.
  • Total duration: 2 Hours.
  • Number of problem areas: 6.

Round 1: BID - Tech Auction:

  • Each team will receive a fixed virtual budget, alongside a theme they have to address.
  • Teams will participate in a live auction for limited technology components and resources.
  • Resources may include Raspberry Pis, Arduinos, microcontrollers, sensors, cameras, IoT modules and AI/cloud credits.
  • Teams must decide which resources to acquire based on their theme, while staying within their allocated budget.

Round 2: TRADE - Resource Exchange:

  • Teams may negotiate with other participating teams to buy, sell or exchange resources.
  • All trades must be completed within the designated trading period.
  • No exchange of resources will be permitted once the trading period closes.

Round 3: INNOVATE - Startup Pitch:

  • Each team will receive a real-world problem area. Possible areas include Smart Cities, Healthcare, Sustainability, Education and Disaster Management.
  • Teams must develop a solution using only the resources they own at the end of the trading round.
  • Physical prototyping is not required.
  • Teams must explain their concept, proposed technology, implementation and potential impact.
  • The final solution must be presented as a startup or product pitch to a panel of judges.
  • Pitch duration: 2-3 minutes.

Rules:

  • Teams must remain within their allocated virtual budget during the auction.
  • Teams may only acquire resources through the official auction and trading rounds.
  • All trades must be completed within the designated trading period.
  • No buying, selling or exchanging of resources will be allowed after trading closes.
  • Teams must develop their solution using only the resources they own after the trading round.
  • Physical prototyping is not required.
  • Teams must present their final solution within the allotted pitch time.
  • Any unfair practice, unauthorised exchange or misconduct may result in disqualification.
  • The decisions of the judging panel and organisers will be final.

Judging:

The final pitch will be evaluated based on the actual solution, the items chosen (either during auction or traded for), both considered in the lens of the problem area given to the teams.

Prizes:

Prize pool: 20k.
