What if you were not the founder raising money, but the investor deciding who gets funded?

Venture Vanguard is a venture capital business simulation where teams play both founder and investor. Build a startup pitch, raise funds, evaluate other startups, negotiate deals, and invest a limited fund, all under time pressure. Test your business understanding, financial knowledge, negotiation, strategy, adaptability, and decision making in a realistic VC environment.

Round 1: The Investor's Lens (Online Screening Quiz):

Test your VC and business acumen through questions covering startup fundamentals, valuation, equity, funding, market sizing, and real world investment situations.

Only the top performing teams qualify for Round 2.

Round 2: The Syndicate Floor (Offline Business Simulation):

Teams simultaneously take on two roles:

  • Founder: Pitch your assigned startup, raise funds, answer questions, and negotiate valuation and equity.
  • Investor: Use your Wallet Fund to evaluate and invest in other teams' startups.

The Setup | 45 Minutes

Teams receive:

  • A Startup: Understand its problem, customers, revenue model, value proposition and funding needs.
  • A VC Fund wallet: Along with a secret investment rule that determines how you can invest.

The Trading Floor | 120 Minutes

Teams will take turns pitching the assigned startup to other teams who will be acting as investors in an attempt to maximise profit.

Founders pitch and negotiate. Investors analyse opportunities, ask questions, negotiate terms and make investments.

Every deal is formalised through a Mini Term Sheet recording investment, ownership and other agreed terms.

Your objective is to raise the best deal for your startup while making the best investments with your fund.

With limited time, limited money, and multiple opportunities, where will you place your bet?
