Krixov presents: AI for Operational Intelligence Case Challenge

Build Real. Showcase Skills. Unlock Opportunities.

About the Challenge:

BUILD2RISE 2026 is an online, idea-based case challenge organized by Krixov. It invites college and university students to analyze real-world operational challenges and propose innovative, practical, data-informed, and responsible AI-enabled solutions.

Participants will select one problem statement, analyze its root causes, define the intended users, design a feasible solution, and present their idea through a structured presentation. The challenge focuses on problem-solving, analytical thinking, product innovation, data-driven decision-making, and responsible use of AI.

Whether your strengths are technology, business, analytics, design, operations, research, or communication, this is an opportunity to showcase your thinking and present an idea with real-world potential.

Problem Statements:

Participants must select exactly one of the following six problem statements.

Problem Statement 1: The Broken Handoff Problem

Problem:

Work is often delayed when tasks move between departments or team members without complete information, clear ownership, or a defined next action.

Challenge:

Design a solution that identifies incomplete handoffs, detects missing information, prioritizes tasks at risk of delay, and recommends actions to improve coordination.

Expected solution:

A workflow-management concept, intelligent checklist, handoff-risk dashboard, or another practical solution.

Success measures:

Reduced incomplete handoffs, less rework, clearer ownership, and shorter resolution time.

Problem Statement 2: The Invisible Cost Detector

Problem:

Businesses may overlook avoidable operational costs caused by repeated work, unused software licenses, duplicate purchases, and recurring delays.

Challenge:

Propose a transparent system that identifies potential waste, ranks opportunities for investigation, and estimates possible savings using clear calculations.

Expected solution:

A cost-intelligence dashboard, expense-analysis system, duplicate-purchase alert, or related concept.

Success measures:

Better visibility into cost drivers, more reliable identification of potential waste, and transparent savings estimates.

Important requirement:

Participants must distinguish confirmed waste from uncertain opportunities. Estimated savings must not be presented as guaranteed savings.

Problem Statement 3: Trust Before Automation

Problem:

AI systems may generate misleading answers when they use outdated documents, conflicting policies, or unverified information.

Challenge:

Design an AI-assisted system that answers questions using approved documents, provides source citations, detects conflicting information, and escalates uncertain cases to a human reviewer.

Expected solution:

A source-grounded AI assistant, policy-verification workflow, or document-conflict detection system.

Success measures:

Higher factual accuracy, appropriate source coverage, reliable conflict detection, and responsible handling of uncertainty.

Important requirement:

The proposed system must not invent policy rules or present unsupported answers as verified facts.

Problem Statement 4: Material Shortage Decision Support

Problem:

Shortages of essential materials can disrupt business operations when inventory levels, demand forecasts, safety stock, and supplier lead times are not considered together.

Challenge:

Design a decision-support solution that identifies materials at risk of shortage, estimates when stock may run low, and recommends suitable actions based on available information.

Expected solution:

An inventory-risk dashboard, reorder recommendation tool, shortage-warning system, or supply-planning concept.

Success measures:

Earlier shortage warnings, better-prioritized purchasing decisions, and fewer avoidable stockouts.

Important requirement:

Participants should explain the assumptions behind forecasts and recommendations rather than treating predictions as certain.

Problem Statement 5: Quality Intelligence System

Problem:

Unusual production patterns may indicate an increased risk of defects, but quality teams may struggle to identify which production batches require further investigation.

Challenge:

Design a system that detects unusual patterns in production data, flags potentially high-risk batches, and recommends evidence-based investigation steps.

Expected solution:

A quality-monitoring dashboard, anomaly-detection concept, or batch-risk prioritization system.

Success measures:

Earlier identification of unusual patterns, faster investigations, and improved prioritization of quality checks.

Important requirement:

The solution must distinguish unusual patterns from confirmed defects and must not assign blame without supporting evidence.

Problem Statement 6: Customer Operations Intelligence

Problem:

Unusual patterns in product returns and warranty claims may indicate recurring customer issues, product defects, or operational weaknesses.

Challenge:

Design an analytics solution that identifies meaningful patterns, estimates potential business impact, and prioritizes corrective actions.

Expected solution:

A customer-operations dashboard, returns-analysis system, warranty-trend monitor, or customer-issue prioritization tool.

Success measures:

Improved visibility into recurring issues, better prioritization of investigations, and more informed corrective-action decisions.

Important requirement:

Participants should explain the evidence behind their findings and avoid treating correlations as proof of causation.

Eligibility and Participation:

  • The challenge is open to currently enrolled college or university students from any discipline and academic year.
  • Beginners, intermediate participants, and advanced participants are welcome.
  • Participants may register individually or in teams of 1–4 members.
  • Inter-college, inter-specialization, and interdisciplinary teams are allowed.
  • Team members may belong to different academic streams, branches, or specializations.
  • Each individual or team must select exactly one of the six problem statements.
  • Participation and submission will take place online through the designated event process.
  • Each individual or team must submit one final presentation for its selected problem statement.
  • Participants are responsible for ensuring that registration details, team details, and submissions are accurate and complete.
  • A participant may be part of only one team and may submit only one final presentation.

Submission Requirements:

Submit one PDF or PowerPoint presentation containing approximately 6 - slides.

Your presentation should cover:
