Welcome to BEYOND THE STAGE – The Audience Analytics Challenge 2026, a Business Analytics Simulation Competition where data, strategy, and decision-making take centre stage.

Step into the role of a concert management team and use data-driven insights to predict audience behaviour, manage uncertainty, and maximize the success of your events. Analyze factors such as the artist, venue, promotions, weather, day of the week, and competing events to forecast General Admission (GA) and VIP attendance.

Across 6 challenging simulation rounds, teams will encounter changing circumstances and unexpected situations, testing their ability to adapt, interpret data, and make smarter decisions under uncertainty.

This challenge is designed for participants who enjoy Business Analytics, Forecasting, Data-Driven Decision Making, Strategy, and Problem-Solving.

Competition Format:

Participants will take part in a business analytics simulation where they will act as a concert management team responsible for forecasting audience attendance.

The challenge will require teams to:

  • Analyze historical audience and event data
  • Forecast General Admission (GA) and VIP attendance
  • Evaluate the impact of the artist, venue, promotions, and weather
  • Account for the day of the week and competing events
  • Respond to unexpected situations and changing market conditions
  • Make strategic decisions under uncertainty
  • Adapt their forecasts across multiple simulation rounds
  • Compete against other teams based on their analytical and decision-making performance

The simulation will consist of 6 challenging rounds, with each round presenting teams with new information and circumstances. Teams must continuously evaluate their assumptions, adapt their strategies, and make informed decisions.

The team that demonstrates the strongest combination of analytical thinking, forecasting ability, adaptability, strategic decision-making, and overall performance will emerge as the winner.

Competition Schedule:

  • Game Date: 26 September 2026 (Saturday)
  • Registration Deadline: 22 September 2026 (Tuesday), 9:00 PM

Rulebook & Detailed Instructions:

The detailed rulebook, simulation guidelines, reporting instructions, and other relevant information will be shared with registered participants before the competition.

Registration Process:

  • Participants must register as a team of 2-3 members.
  • Both team members must complete the required registration process.
  • Participants are advised to provide accurate and authentic information during registration.
  • Further instructions regarding the simulation platform and participation process will be communicated to registered teams.

Awards:

  • Winner Team: ₹20,000 Cash Prize
  • 1st Runner-Up: ₹15,000 Cash Prize

Guidelines:

  • Participation is strictly in teams of 2-3 members.
  • Each participant can be part of only one team.
  • Teams must complete the registration process within the specified deadline.
  • Participants must ensure a stable internet connection throughout the simulation.
  • Teams must follow all instructions provided by the Organising Committee.
  • Participants are responsible for ensuring their availability during the designated simulation window.
  • The simulation consists of 6 rounds.
  • Teams are expected to adapt their decisions based on information provided during each round.
  • The detailed simulation process, evaluation methodology, and platform instructions will be communicated before the event.

Rules:

  • Any form of collaboration with teams other than the registered teammate is strictly prohibited.
  • Participants must use authentic information during registration.
  • Impersonation, plagiarism, manipulation of data, or use of unfair means will result in immediate disqualification.
  • Teams must participate using the details provided during registration.
  • The Organising Committee reserves the right to verify participant credentials at any stage.
  • Any violation of the competition rules may lead to disqualification.
  • Decisions of the Organising Committee and Judging Panel regarding evaluation, rankings, and winners shall be final and binding.
  • The Organising Committee reserves the right to modify the schedule, format, or rules in case of unavoidable circumstances.
