Opportunity brief
Roverra:
- ROVERRA is a hands-on robotics competition based on the theme of Moon/Mars exploration. Participants will work in teams to assemble a basic robotic rover using components and kits available with the club and then operate their rover on a specially designed planetary terrain course.
- The workshop will simulate a simplified Moon/Mars surface and will contain different difficulty levels, such as slopes, uneven terrain, rocky sections, narrow passages, turns, checkpoints and crater-like obstacles. Teams will be given a limited time to assemble and test their rover.
- The objective is to successfully navigate the complete workshop in the minimum possible time while avoiding obstacles and penalties. The event will encourage participants to learn practical robotics, mechanical assembly, electronics, motor control, teamwork and problem-solving.
Event Format:
- Expected participation: 150+ participants.
- Duration: 3.5 hours.
- Team size: Maximum 4 participants.
- Teams assemble a basic rover kit using available club components.
- Teams test their rover before the final timed challenge.
- Final ranking will be based on successful workshop completion, time and applicable penalties.
- Winners will be awarded with goodies.
