Opportunity brief
Robo Soccer:
- Robo Soccer is a competitive robotics event where participants control pre-built robots to play football in specially designed miniature soccer fields.
- The event is intended as a Next day activity after the rover-based event. The major advantage is that the club already has the robots, so participants do not need to build a robot from scratch. Instead, they will focus on robot control, coordination, strategy, navigation and competitive gameplay.
- The venue will contain 3 separate Robo Soccer fields so that multiple matches can take place simultaneously. This parallel-field setup will allow the event to accommodate 100+ participants within the planned 3-hour duration.
- Teams will participate in short football matches. Depending on the final number of participants and available robots, the competition can be organized into qualification/group matches followed by knockout rounds.
Event Format:
- Expected participation: 100+ participants.
- Duration: 3 hours.
- 3 parallel miniature soccer fields.
- Existing club robots will be used.
- Short matches to allow a large number of teams to participate.
- Match rules will define field boundaries, match duration, scoring, robot limits and penalties.
- Goodies will be given.
