Opportunity brief
SARCathon 2026 | Presented by SARC, IIT Bombay
Build the Technology of Tomorrow.
The semiconductor industry is powering the next generation of AI, communication, computing, and intelligent hardware. Now, it's your turn to build for it.
SemiCON Hackathon 2026 is a Pan-IIT technical competition that challenges students to solve problems at the intersection of Semiconductor Technology, Communication, and AI Hardware.
Identify the challenge. Engineer the solution. Take your idea further with expert mentorship.
What is SemiCON?
Participants will work on challenging problem statements across two key areas:
Communication
Explore technical challenges shaping the future of communication and connected systems.
AI Hardware
Build innovative solutions at the intersection of artificial intelligence and semiconductor hardware.
Participants will first submit their proposed solutions individually. Shortlisted participants will then receive mentoring support to refine and develop their ideas further.
Competition Structure
Round 1 | Screening Round
Choose a specified sub-theme and submit your proposed technical solution to the given problem statement.
The strongest submissions will be shortlisted based on the quality of their approach, technical understanding, and innovation.
Round 2 | Hackathon & Problem Solving
Shortlisted participants will further develop their solutions with expert mentoring support.
Final solutions will be evaluated by faculty and industry experts on technical approach, innovation, solution quality, and practical applicability.
