Want a shot at getting hired by Lam Research, a Fortune 500 company that makes the equipment used to build almost every advanced chip today? E-Cell IIT Bombay and T-Works (Government of Telangana) are running the Lam Research Challenge 2026, a systems engineering competition where top teams get direct internships and full-time offers.
The Challenge:
- Build a working prototype for a real industrial problem. You'll use skills from mechanical, electronics, automation and process engineering, all in one project.
High-Value Prize Money (Post-Tax):
- 1st Prize – ₹ 5,00,000
- 1st Runner-Up – ₹ 3,00,000
- 2nd Runner-Up – ₹ 1,50,000
- All finalists additionally receive an official certificate of participation from Lam Research.
Career Outcomes (Beyond the Competition):
- The top 25 finalist teams receive direct interaction with Lam Research's technical and talent leadership for internship and subsequent placement opportunities.
- 2024: 16 Internship Offers, 04 Full-Time Offers from Lam Research
- 2025: 14 Internship Offers, 05 Full-Time Offers from Lam Research
Fully Sponsored Grand Finale:
- The top 25 finalist teams are fully hosted by Lam Research and T-Works:
- Return economy air travel from participant's city to venue and back
- Hotel accommodation for the duration of the finale

Team Composition & Eligibility:
- The challenge is designed for cross-disciplinary teams. Single-discipline entries are not viable, the problem demands integrated thinking across engineering domains.
- Team Size: 4 Members
- Disciplines: One member from Mechanical (Mandatory). Other 3 members can be of any domain
- Eligibility: 3rd & 4th Year Engineering Undergraduates
