All that you need to know about Design Marathon
General Rules & Guidelines
- Participants can register individually or in teams (maximum of 2 members per team).
- The design theme and problem statements will be announced at the start of the event.
- Use of third-party design tools, assets, and libraries (e.g., stock images, fonts, UI kits) is allowed but must be disclosed.
- AI-generated designs/assets are permitted only if disclosed and properly credited.
Team Formation:
- Each team must designate a team leader for communication with organizers.
- Participants cannot be part of multiple teams.
- Teams cannot merge or split after registration.
Design & Development Guidelines:
- Original work only—projects must be created from scratch during the marathon. Pre-existing design templates may be referenced but not directly reused—any such references must be disclosed.
- Plagiarism is strictly prohibited—any detected plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification.
- Offensive, illegal, or unethical content is strictly not allowed.
- Submissions must be complete and showcase a coherent branding identity.
Submission Requirements:
- Final design files (Figma/Adobe XD/Illustrator/Photoshop or high-quality image exports).
- Presentation slides (max 5 slides) explaining:
- Idea and inspiration
- Design process & tools used
- Brand identity elements and rationale
- Team details and roles
Judging Criteria:
Projects will be evaluated based on the following:
- Technical Accuracy (50%) – Correctness and robustness of ML methods and implementation.
- Innovation & Creativity (20%) – Originality of the idea and solution approach.
- Execution & Functionality (15%) – Working prototype, code quality, and usability.
- Presentation & Clarity (15%) – Effectiveness of project explanation and visual aids.
- Judges will use a rating scale (e.g., 1–10) for each criterion to ensure fairness and consistency.
- In case of a tie, the team with stronger technical accuracy will be ranked higher.
Code of Conduct:
- Respect all participants, mentors, and organizers.
- Collaboration is encouraged, but no external help or outsourcing is allowed.
- Any form of cheating, misrepresentation, or unethical behaviour will result in disqualification.
- If an issue arises, teams should report to the organizers immediately.
Tools & Resources Usage:
- Participants must use their own laptops/devices—cloud-based platforms are allowed if disclosed.
- Use of copyrighted materials without proper license is strictly prohibited.
- Organizers are not responsible for hardware/software failures or lost progress—backup your work frequently.
