At the Society of Finance (SOFIA), the Finance Club of Goa Institute of Management (GIM), we strive to inspire and empower finance enthusiasts with our engaging events and competitions, which deepen participants' financial understanding and enhance their learning experience. We also:
- Organize events and activities to help students develop finance acumen and impart knowledge on the latest happenings in the finance world.
- Update finance enthusiasts about the scope and opportunities available in the field of finance and guide them in crafting their way to a successful career in the finance domain.
- Publish SOFIA Times - a Quarterly newsletter for GIM students. It presents a complete picture of different topics related to Finance and the Economy.
- Release Finance Blogs – These are bi-monthly blogs, published on the official blog of GIM, written by students on relevant finance-related topics.
What is Nivesh?
NIVESH 2026 is a national-level flagship event of Society of Finance (SOFIA) in collaboration with SAMRIDDHI 2026, which is the perfect opportunity for honing the trading skills of the participants. This event will explore trading and valuation skills, testing the acumen and the fine eye to generate maximum return on investment on a real-time platform.
The event is organized in two parts:
- The first part is an online stock trading simulation wherein the participants invest in stocks for three days, and the top-performing teams with the maximum portfolio value proceed to the next round.
- The next round is a final round where the teams are required to perform a valuation of any one of the given companies and make a presentation of the same. The presentations are judged by a panel of two members who are experts in the field of finance.
