Video Editor Intern

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Video Editor Intern who can transform raw footage into engaging, professional, and visually appealing content. This is a 3-month paid internship opportunity with a stipend of ₹20,000 per month.

The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of storytelling, pacing, typography, transitions, sound design, color correction, and social-media content formats. The candidate should also be willing to learn, experiment with new editing styles, and deliver content within deadlines.

Internship Details

  • Position: Video Editor Intern
  • Internship Duration: 3 Months
  • Stipend: ₹20,000 per month
  • Opportunity Type: Paid Internship
  • Total Internship Stipend: ₹60,000 for 3 months, subject to successful completion and applicable attendance/work policies.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Edit raw video footage into high-quality and engaging final videos.
  • Create content for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, YouTube videos, advertisements, promotional videos, and other social-media platforms.
  • Understand the objective of each video and create edits accordingly.
  • Add appropriate transitions, text animations, subtitles, motion graphics, sound effects, and background music.
  • Perform basic color correction and color grading to maintain a professional visual style.
  • Synchronize audio, voiceovers, music, and video footage properly.
  • Identify and select the best clips from raw footage.
  • Maintain proper pacing, storytelling, and audience retention throughout the video.
  • Create attention-grabbing hooks and opening sequences for short-form content.
  • Work with the content/creative team to understand scripts, references, and editing requirements.
  • Make revisions based on feedback provided by the team or client.
  • Maintain consistency in fonts, colors, graphics, and overall brand identity.
  • Organize project files, footage, audio, graphics, and final exports properly.
  • Deliver assigned videos within the specified deadlines.
  • Stay updated with current video-editing trends, social-media trends, transitions, effects, and content styles.

Required Skills

Candidates should have knowledge of one or more of the following:

  • Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Adobe After Effects
  • DaVinci Resolve
  • Final Cut Pro
  • CapCut / similar professional editing tools

Additional skills that will be an advantage:

  • Motion graphics
  • Basic animation
  • Sound design
  • Color grading
  • Thumbnail designing
  • Photoshop / Canva
  • AI-assisted video-editing tools
  • Understanding of Instagram and YouTube content trends

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong interest in video editing and content creation.
  • Good creative thinking and visual storytelling ability.
  • Ability to understand references and recreate similar editing styles.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to accept feedback positively and make revisions.
  • Good time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple editing assignments when required.
  • Basic communication and coordination skills.
  • Candidates should have access to a system capable of handling professional video-editing software, if the role is remote.

Work Expectations / Rules

  • Assigned work must be submitted within the agreed deadline.
  • Candidates should maintain proper communication regarding work progress.
  • Project files and company/client data must be kept confidential.
  • Raw footage, scripts, client information, and unpublished content should not be shared publicly without permission.
  • Editors must follow the provided brand guidelines and content instructions.
  • Any delay in submission should be communicated to the concerned person in advance.
  • Candidates should be open to reasonable revisions based on feedback.
  • Plagiarism or unauthorized use of copyrighted material should be avoided.
  • All project files should be properly named, organized, and backed up.
  • Professional behaviour and communication are expected throughout the engagement.

Eligibility

  • Students, freshers, and experienced candidates with relevant video-editing skills can apply.
  • Candidates from any educational background may apply if they have strong editing skills.
  • A portfolio or previous editing samples are highly preferred.
  • Candidates without professional experience but with a strong portfolio may also apply.

Preferred Portfolio

  • Applicants are encouraged to share:
  • 2–5 best video-editing samples
  • Instagram Reels / YouTube Shorts
  • Long-form YouTube videos, if available
  • Motion graphics or After Effects work, if available
  • Before-and-after editing samples, if available

We are not looking for someone who only knows how to operate editing software. We are looking for someone who can understand the content, identify the right moments, create engaging storytelling, and convert ordinary footage into content that holds the viewer's attention.
