Quiz Competition: Current Affairs, BIS & Technical
Overview
Challenge your knowledge across Current Affairs, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), and Technical subjects in an exciting quiz competition featuring an online screening round followed by offline finals for shortlisted teams.
Eligibility
- Open to undergraduate engineering college students. - Participants from all colleges and academic branches are welcome. - Team size: 1–3 members. - Inter-specialization teams are allowed.
Competition Format
Round 1: Online Screening
- 30 multiple-choice questions covering Current Affairs, BIS, and Technical topics. - Duration: 30 minutes. - Top 20 teams will qualify for the offline finals based on their scores.
Round 2: Offline Finals
- Venue: CGIT Campus, Raipur
The finals consist of three rounds without eliminations between them.
Round 1 – Current Affairs
- 20 questions. - Buzzer time: 10 seconds. - Answer time: 15 seconds.
Round 2 – BIS
- 15 questions. - Buzzer time: 10 seconds. - Answer time: 20 seconds.
Round 3 – Technical
- 12 questions. - Buzzer time: 15 seconds. - Answer time: 25 seconds.
Bonus Round – Rapid Fire
- Conducted for the top 5 teams. - 6 questions per team in 60 seconds. - Bonus scoring applies.
Rules and Regulations
- Current Affairs: +10 for a correct answer and −5 for an incorrect answer. - Technical and Aptitude: +15 for a correct answer and −5 for an incorrect answer. - Rapid Fire: +10 for a correct answer, with no negative marking. - Buzzing before the question is fully read invalidates that attempt. - Once recognised, a team must answer within the allotted time. - Speaking an answer before being asked will attract a penalty of 10 marks. - Mobile phones, internet access, and external assistance are prohibited during all rounds. - Unfair means during online screening will lead to disqualification. - The judges' decision will be final and binding.
Shortlisting
- The top 20 teams from the online screening will be invited to participate in the offline finals. Further instructions will be shared with shortlisted teams.
