Welcome to Octocode, the premier 8-hour hackathon hosted under Avesh, the annual technical and cultural fest of Chhattisgarh Institute of Technology, Raipur! Gather your team, brainstorm innovative solutions, and code your way to victory.

Eligibility & Registration Guidelines
- Team Size: Teams must consist of 1 to 4 members. Solo participation is allowed.
- Who Can Apply: The event is strictly open to college students currently enrolled in their 1st year to 4th year of study.
- Cross-College Teams: Members from different colleges can team up, provided all members meet the student eligibility criteria.
Shortlisting Process (How it Works)
The hackathon will be conducted in two rounds:
Round 1: PPT Submission Round (Idea Submission/First Round) Registered teams must submit their project ideas/proposals online. Submissions will be rigorously evaluated by our jury based on:
- Problem Understanding: How well you grasp the core issue you are trying to solve.
- Innovation: The uniqueness and creativity of your approach.
- Proposed Solution: The effectiveness and technical depth of your idea.
- Feasibility: How practical and achievable the solution is within an 8-hour timeframe.
Round 2: The Final Showdown (Offline Hackathon) Top teams shortlisted from the Tsebeisha round will be invited to participate in the thrilling 8-hour offline coding phase at CGIIT Raipur.
General Hackathon Rules (For Shortlisted Teams)
- Bring Your Own Tech: Participants are required to bring their own laptops, chargers, extension cords, and any specific hardware components they might need.
- Intellectual Property: Teams retain full ownership of the projects they build during the event.
- Code of Conduct: Octocode is a collaborative and inclusive space. Harassment or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
- Final Decisions: The decisions made by the judging panel and the organizing committee will be final and binding.
