Burns & McDonnell is hiring for the role of Junior Assistant!
Responsibilities of the Candidate:
- You'll be a part of our vibrant T&D Global Practice and work on exciting projects related to the design of overhead transmission lines, substations, underground and overhead distribution lines, NIA, industrial electrical facilities, and pipelines. - This position is supporting a network upgrade replacing legacy telecommunication equipment and time division multiplexing (TDM) era technology. - Designer will be applying networking principles to assess the type of networking equipment needed on-site to support the site's needs.\ - Router type, router cards, small form-factor pluggable (SFP)s, and power requirements will be determined utilizing site survey notes, pictures, 3D scans, and correspondence with site surveyor/designleads. - Design functions will include assessing what networking components are necessary, detailing and drafting designs, developing scope of work for installs, assembling part/equipment bill of material (BOM) requests, and supporting design discussions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in electronics & telecommunication engineering from an accredited program - Candidates must have secured a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent grade in the qualifying examination from a reputed university/institute in India - Candidate should be passing out as part of the 2027 batch only - Experience, certifications, or formal education in networking, computing, or electrical engineering -
Microsoft Visio, Excel, and Word Experience
- Technology (IT), Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Network Systems, or related curriculum - Technical Certification by Nokia, Cisco, or other reputable networking certification entity - Legacy Telecommunications Technology (time division multiplexing (TDM), Synchronous optical networking (SONET), serial communication) - Network Transport Technology (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM), Microwave, etc.) - Modern Networking Technology (Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) packet networking) - Familiarity with an electric utility's supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) or Operational Technology (OT)
