Global Innovation Hackathon 2026 – Build for a Better Future

Global Innovation Hackathon 2026 is an international online hackathon that brings together students, developers, designers, researchers, entrepreneurs, and technology enthusiasts from around the world to build innovative solutions for real-world challenges.

Participants will progress through three stages: Registration, Idea Submission, and Project Submission, followed by Jury Evaluation and Final Presentation.

Eligibility

  • Participants from any country can participate.
  • School students, college/university students, freshers, working professionals, developers, designers, researchers, entrepreneurs, and technology enthusiasts are eligible.
  • Participants from any academic specialization or professional background can participate.
  • Participants can participate individually or in teams.
  • Team size: 1 to 6 members.
  • Inter-college/inter-university teams are allowed.
  • Inter-specialization/interdisciplinary teams are allowed.
  • Members of a team can belong to different countries and institutions.
  • Each participant can be part of only one team.

Participants are invited to identify a real-world problem and develop an innovative technology-based solution.

Hackathon Process

Round 1: Registration

Participants must register individually or create/join a team of up to 4 members.

Format: Online registration

Duration: As per the official hackathon timeline.

Only registered participants/teams will be eligible for the Idea Submission round.

Round 2: Idea Submission

Participants/teams will submit one original idea based on the hackathon theme.

The idea submission should include:

  • Problem Statement
  • Proposed Solution
  • Innovation/Uniqueness
  • Target Users
  • Expected Impact
  • Proposed Technology
  • Feasibility
  • Scalability
  • Brief Implementation Approach

Number of ideas allowed: One idea per participant/team.

Duration: As per the official hackathon timeline.

Submitted ideas will be evaluated by the organizing/judging team. Selected participants/teams will proceed to the Project Submission round.

Round 3: Project Submission, Jury Evaluation & Presentation

Selected teams will develop their proposed idea into a working solution and submit the final project.

The project may include a:

  • Web application
  • Mobile application
  • AI/ML solution
  • Software product
  • Data-driven solution
  • Cloud-based platform
  • Prototype
  • Hardware-integrated solution
  • Other technology-based innovation

Final Submission

Teams may be required to submit:

  • Working Prototype/Product
  • Project Description
  • Source Code/Repository
  • Project Documentation
  • Demonstration Video
  • Presentation/Pitch Deck
  • Technology Stack
  • Demo/Deployment Link, where applicable

Duration: As per the official hackathon timeline.

Jury Evaluation & Final Presentation

Shortlisted projects will be evaluated by the jury panel.

Shortlisted teams may be invited to present their project online before the jury.

The presentation should cover:

  • Problem Statement
  • Proposed Solution
  • Innovation
  • Technical Implementation
  • Product Demonstration
  • Impact
  • Scalability
  • Future Scope

The presentation and Q&A duration will be communicated to shortlisted teams before the final evaluation.

Evaluation Criteria

Projects will be evaluated on:

  • Innovation & Originality – 25%
  • Technical Implementation – 25%
  • Real-World Impact – 20%
  • Feasibility & Scalability – 15%
  • User Experience & Design – 10%
  • Presentation & Demonstration – 5%

Total – 100%

Rules

  • Each participant can be part of only one team.
  • Each team must have 1–4 members.
  • Inter-college and inter-university teams are allowed.
  • Inter-specialization and interdisciplinary teams are allowed.
  • International and cross-country teams are allowed.
  • Each team can submit only one idea.
  • All submitted ideas and projects must be original.
  • Plagiarism, copying, impersonation, fraudulent submissions, or unfair practices are strictly prohibited.
  • Open-source libraries, frameworks, APIs, and publicly available resources may be used where permitted.
  • Third-party resources used in the project should be appropriately acknowledged.
  • AI-assisted development tools may be used, but participants are responsible for the originality, functionality, security, and accuracy of their submission.
  • Previously developed projects must not be submitted as new work unless explicitly permitted by the organizers.
  • Projects must not violate copyright, intellectual property, privacy, or applicable laws.
  • All submissions must be completed before the announced deadlines.
  • Late submissions may not be accepted unless an extension is officially announced.
  • Participants must follow all instructions and guidelines communicated by the organizers.
  • The organizers reserve the right to disqualify participants or teams that violate the eligibility criteria or competition rules.
  • The decision of the jury regarding evaluation, rankings, and winners will be final.

The hackathon will be conducted online, and participants are responsible for ensuring reliable internet connectivity and timely submission of all required materials.
