Opportunity brief

The competition tests structured thinking, analytical ability, adaptability, and consulting-oriented problem solving through an eliminatory business quiz and a 72-hour consulting engagement based on real-world business challenges.

Shortlisted teams will analyze evolving business scenarios, identify key challenges, and develop strategic solutions while adapting to unexpected twists and changing client requirements.

The competition culminates in a final presentation, where teams defend their strategies and showcase their consulting skills. Think critically, adapt quickly, and turn complex business challenges into impactful solutions!

Round Details:

  • Round 1 – Online Eliminatory Quiz
  • A 20 minute quiz with 15 MCQs covering business fundamentals, marketing, strategy, consulting, logical reasoning, data interpretation, and general business awareness.
  • The top 15 teams will qualify for Round 2.
  • Round 2 – 72-Hour Consulting Engagement
  • Shortlisted teams act as consulting firms and solve one main client case using a briefing pack and data room.
  • Teams will face 3 twists that challenge their initial assumptions and require them to adapt their recommendations.

- Day 2 – Twist 1: New data will be released that may challenge the teams' initial assumptions and require them to reassess their approach. - Initial Hypothesis – Day 2 Evening: Teams must submit a 2-slide presentation outlining their understanding of the core problem, initial approach, key assumptions, and proposed direction. This checkpoint carries marks and provides an opportunity for feedback before teams proceed to the final stage. - Day 3 – Twist 2: The client changes a key condition, such as the budget, business objective, or a competitor's move. Teams must adapt their strategies and recommendations accordingly. - Ask the Client – Live Session (Midday): Teams can book a 5–10 minute slot to clarify doubts and ask relevant questions about the case. - Twist 3 – Board Pressure: You may face a final challenge, such as a shortened timeline or regulatory change, requiring you to refine your solution accordingly.

  • Final Deck – Day 3: Teams must submit a final deck of a maximum of 5 slides in PDF format. The final deck must demonstrate logical reasoning, feasibility, and the ability to translate analysis into actionable recommendations. The submission should include:
  • Problem Analysis: Identify the central business problem and support the analysis with relevant data and insights.
  • Recommendations: Present a clear, practical, and well-reasoned solution to the client's challenge.
  • Implementation Plan: Outline the key steps, priorities, and considerations required to execute the proposed solution.
  • Response to Twists: Explain how the team's assumptions, strategy, and recommendations evolved in response to new information and changing client requirements.
  • Finale – Live Presentation
  • The top 5–8 teams will be shortlisted for the live finale on Google Meet.
  • Each team gets 8 minutes to present, followed by 4 minutes of Q&A with the judges.
  • Winners will be selected based on analysis, adaptability, solution quality, and presentation.
