Global Equity Investment Competition Season 4

- THE SETUP: Starting Capital: US$100,000 (virtual cash) Trading Fee: $10 per trade
- Benchmark: S&P 500 (market close Sept 11 2026 = our starting point)
TRADING RULES:
- Long only – No short selling, No leverage
- US exchanges only – NYSE, NASDAQ
- Individual stocks only – No ETFs, No Funds
- Minimum 5 holdings – Required by Sept 21
Keep at least 5 core positions open at all times (meaning by the close of each trading day) – From Sept 21 2026 onward
Each of the 5 core positions must have a minimum initial trade value of US$5,000 (if the market value drops below US$5,000 after entry, that's fine — no action needed)
Core positions can be closed but must be replaced with a new US$5,000+ position before the end of the trading day
Additional positions beyond the core 5 can be opened at any value (less than US$,5000 is acceptable)
Part-cash positions are allowed – you do not have to allocate all your cash

Key Dates:
Enrolment will close on 10 Sept 2026
- Sept 14 (Soft Start): Trading opens, but you have a week to warm up and choose your first 5 positions.
- Sept 21 (Hard Start): Must have at least 5 positions open (with a minimum of US$25,000 invested).
- Nov 20 (End Date): Final Bell. Highest return wins.
Trading Hours: Traditional US Market Hours: 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM ET
Limit orders: Can be placed anytime (set before the open if you want)

You will need to sign up for a free account with MarketWatch and Slack.
Applications received after 10 Sept 2026 will not be considered.
Winning:
Highest return at Nov 20th 2026 market close = GEIC Champion S4
1st place prize is US$ 500 (sent by international bank transfer - processed within 2 weeks after final score)

Benchmark Prizes and VMCBC discounts are non-transferable and have no cash value. They cannot be exchanged, redeemed, or substituted for cash or any other prize, in whole or in part. If a prize can't be delivered as described, we'll offer a reasonable alternative instead, at our discretion. For the 1st place prize.
