Opportunity brief

RiDE Ideathon - TVS Motor is a national-level engineering innovation challenge designed exclusively for engineering students across premier institutes.

This competition provides a platform to apply your technical knowledge, creativity, and problem-solving skills to real-world automotive and mobility challenges. By participating, you will gain the opportunity to interact with experts from the industry, develop practical engineering solutions, and win exciting rewards for your innovative ideas.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Team size: Total of 3 members.
  • We would appreciate at least 1 female team member in each team.

- Open only to 3rd-year students of the 4-year B.E./Btech full-time program(2024-2028 batch). - Students from the specified streams (Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Automobile Engineering) and related streams should apply only.

Team Formulation Guidelines:

  • Each team must choose a name for their team.
  • It is the team leader's responsibility to ensure that all the team members are eligible to participate in the contest.
  • Violation of the eligibility criteria or team constitution will automatically disqualify the team.
  • TVS Motors reserves the right to check the validity of the registration information submitted at any point in time.
  • Modification of team members post-registration will not be allowed.
  • There is no restriction on the number of teams from a particular institute.
  • Cross-campus teams are not allowed.
  • Cross-stream teams are allowed.
  • One person can't be a member of more than one team.

Competition Structure:

Online Assessment

  • The Team Leader must complete the assessment in 30 minutes.
  • The assessment consists 20 multiple-choice questions in 30 minutes.
  • Teams will be ranked based on the final score and the time taken to complete the assessment. In case of a tie in scores, the team that finishes earlier will be ranked higher. Based on overall performance, select teams will progress to the next stage of the competition.
  • The results of the assessment will be announced within 1-2 days after the round concludes.

Executive Summary Submission

  • Teams to propose a solution(s) and showcase the problems they will be addressing through their proposed solutions. Any references should be given due credit. You can use your creativity to make the best presentation and submit it in PPT and PDF format.
  • It should have 3-5 slides of presentation.
  • The size of the PPT should not be more than 20 MB.
  • The participating teams in this round will move on to the next level based on their performance.

Detailed Submission

  • Shortlisted teams from the Executive Summary Submission round will move to this round.
  • In this round, the teams will be required to submit a detailed version of their previous submission.
  • You can use your creativity to make the best presentation and submit it in PPT and PDF format.
  • It should have 10-12 slides in the presentation.
  • The size of the PPT should not be more than 20 MB.

Grand Finale

- National Finalists will present their analysis & proposed solution to the problem statement, covering problem understanding, solution framework, demonstrating innovation, technical depth, and feasibility, before the jury panel.

Rewards and Prizes:

  • The winning team will be rewarded with a cash prize of INR 1,00,000 per problem statement
  • The runner-up team will be rewarded with a cash prize of INR 50,000 per problem statement

  • Stand a chance to win PPI opportunities*

*Selected individuals stand a chance to grab PPIs based on their project performance and outcome, individual contribution, prevailing business requirements, and their application and profile fitment for roles posted during campus recruitment.
