Description
A miniature motorsport challenge that brings Formula 1 race strategy, engineering and pit management down to RC scale. Teams race in two categories, Custom-Built and Commercial, through practice, a qualifying round and a 50-lap Grand Finale with a mandatory pit stop. Teams compete against lap times, track conditions, battery depletion and each other on a purpose-built 130 m circuit with timed laps.
Eligibility:
Open to all students with a quantitative interest. Teams of 2-3.
Performance Guidelines:
- Data sets and scenarios are provided on the day.
- Any programming language or spreadsheet may be used.
- Models must be explained in a short viva.
Judging Criteria
- Returns or outcome achieved (50%)
- Model rigor (30%)
- Explanation (20%).
