Overview

Hack The Hardware India 2.0 (HTH 2.0) is a premier PAN-India Hardware Innovation Competition that brings together students, innovators, and technology enthusiasts from across India to develop innovative hardware solutions for real-world challenges.

The competition aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical engineering by encouraging participants to design, prototype, and demonstrate industry-ready hardware solutions using technologies such as Electronics, Embedded Systems, IoT, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Automation, Renewable Energy, Smart Healthcare, Smart Agriculture, Electric Vehicles, Industry 4.0, and other emerging domains.

HTH 2.0 provides a platform for participants to transform innovative ideas into functional hardware prototypes while gaining experience in product development, technical documentation, presentation, and industry interaction.

  • Venue: Suryodaya College of Engineering and Technology (SCET), Nagpur, Maharashtra
  • Mode: Offline (Final Round at SCET Campus, Nagpur)
  • Duration: 24-hour hackathon

  • Process: Registration → Idea Submission → Shortlisting → 24-hour Offline Finale
  • Certification: Certificates for all finalists

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to Diploma, Undergraduate (UG), and Postgraduate (PG) students from AICTE-approved institutions across India.
  • Participants from all engineering disciplines are eligible.
  • Teams must consist of 2–4 members.
  • Cross-college and cross-disciplinary teams are permitted.

Domains

Healthcare and Diagnostics

Develop smart connected solutions using sensors, microcontrollers, wireless communication, and cloud technologies for real-world applications.

Embedded Systems & Automation

Design embedded hardware and automation systems using microcontrollers, sensors, actuators, and real-time control for intelligent applications.

Robotics & Smart Manufacturing

Create autonomous robotic systems and smart manufacturing solutions for industrial automation, precision control, and Industry 4.0 applications.

Renewable Energy & Electric Vehicles

Develop innovative solutions in renewable energy, battery management, electric vehicles, smart charging, and sustainable power systems.

Open Innovation

Present innovative hardware solutions that address real-world challenges across any domain. Interdisciplinary projects with strong technical feasibility, creativity, scalability, and societal impact are highly encouraged.

Note: These domains apply to the PPT submission round. The Offline Finale will have different problem statements and domains.

Hackathon Format

Round 1: Idea Submission

  • Teams must submit their project proposal through the Unstop portal using the prescribed PPT format.
  • The project presentation must be prepared using the official PPT template provided in the Attachments section of the Unstop event page.
  • The presentation should clearly explain the problem, proposed solution, technical approach, and expected impact.
  • All project ideas must be original and must not violate any intellectual property rights.

Round 2: Evaluation and Shortlisting

All submitted project proposals will be reviewed by a panel of academicians, industry experts, startup founders, and technical professionals.

Evaluation will be based on:

  • Innovation and creativity
  • Technical feasibility
  • Problem-solving approach
  • Practical implementation
  • Hardware design concept
  • Presentation quality

The top 50 teams will be shortlisted and announced on 7 September through the official website and other official communication channels.

Shortlisted teams must pay ₹500 within the specified period to confirm their participation in the Offline Finale.

Round 3: Grand Finale – Offline Prototype Building and Demonstration

Shortlisted teams will be invited to participate in the Offline Grand Finale at the designated venue.

The Final Round will include:

  • Live hardware prototype demonstration
  • Technical presentation of the project
  • Product pitch to the jury
  • Question & Answer (Q&A) session
  • Live testing of the prototype

The decision of the judging panel shall be final and binding.

What the Fee Covers

  • Event kit and refreshments for all registered team members
  • Participation certificates for all team members upon successful completion of the event
  • Official confirmation of registration and participation in the Offline Hardware Hackathon at Suryodaya College of Engineering & Technology, Nagpur, upon successful fee payment
  • Food arrangements for all members

Prize Pool

1st Winner

  • ₹10,000 cash prize
  • ₹10,000 worth of incubation support

Runner-Up

  • ₹7,000 cash prize
  • ₹10,000 worth of incubation support

2nd Runner-Up

  • ₹4,000 cash prize
  • ₹9,000 worth of incubation support

Rules & Guidelines

  • All submitted projects must be original.
  • Plagiarism or copied projects will result in immediate disqualification.
  • Teams must strictly adhere to all submission deadlines.
  • Late submissions will not be accepted.
  • Teams must carry their own hardware components for the Offline Finale unless informed otherwise.
  • At least 2 members of each team must be present at the venue during the Finale.
  • Organizers reserve the right to modify the schedule due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Any form of misconduct, unethical behaviour, or violation of competition rules will result in immediate disqualification.
  • The decision of the judging panel shall be final and binding.
