Opportunity brief
About:
The Arthniti (ISSN: 2277-1344) is the official peer-reviewed research journal of the Department of Economics at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. The journal features research papers and articles written by undergraduate students of economics and related disciplines.
Every year, the journal publishes research on a specific theme, enriching the scope and suggesting a refreshing strand of thought to pick upon by the students every year across the disciplines of Economics, Finance, Political Science, Psychology, Technology, inter alia, and this year The Arthniti invites abstracts on the theme 'Emergence'.
Theme:
Emergence is the process by which interactions among simple underlying components can give rise to complex behaviours and structures. Often, the ultimate outcome observed is neither intuitive nor reducible to those individual components. This theme looks at interdisciplinary ideas as emerging concepts that rarely respect the boundaries of a single field.
Emergence therefore, is not merely change, but it further examines what change produces. An understanding of these processes is therefore imperative to not only navigating uncertainty but also building systems that are resilient to adapting for what comes next. This year, The Arthniti tries to capture the essence of its theme, 'Emergence' through diverse research papers.
