About Tools Expo
Tools Expo is a premier platform for students to showcase innovative cybersecurity tools and utilities developed or customized by them. Participants bring their own tools, explain the core problems they solve, and demonstrate the software in real time before a jury panel.
The event encourages students to translate theoretical cybersecurity knowledge into practical, deployment-ready software solutions spanning vulnerability assessment, network defense, digital forensics, threat detection, and automation.
Event Format
- Single Round: Showcase & Evaluation.
- Each team presents their software utility to the judging panel, providing a live demonstration of its purpose, architecture, features, and real-world defense/offense applications.
- The judges will interact with the team and evaluate the tool through controlled live testing.
Rules & Regulations
- Team size: 1 to 3 members.
- Each team must showcase one cybersecurity-related tool, utility, or solution developed or significantly customized by them.
- Teams must bring all necessary hardware, source code files, dependencies, and environments required for the live demonstration.
- The tool must be functional and ready for live execution during evaluation.
- Use of existing open-source libraries or frameworks must be transparently disclosed. Plagiarism or showcasing unmodified public tools will result in disqualification.
- Demonstrated tools must not target campus networks, cause data loss, or disrupt external infrastructure.
- Evaluation is based on innovation, originality, technical implementation, practical utility, and presentation quality.
- The decision of the judges is final and binding.
