Code and Craft is the premier Design & Development competition, where you can showcase your creativity and subject your development skills to bring it to life.
Code it. Craft it. Show it.
Guidelines:
- Eligibility: Open to students from all colleges and universities
- Team Size: 1-3 participants per team
- Inter-College Teams: Allowed. Participants from different colleges may form a team
- Inter-Specialization Teams: Allowed. Participants from differents branches/specializations may form a team.
- Competition Format: The competition consists of three rounds:
- Ideate and Create - Design and conceptualization
- Bring to Life - Website development and implementation
- Showcase - Live demonstration and Q&A
- Problem Statements: A theme/problem statement will be provided by the organizers at the beginning of the competition. Teams must develop their solution around the given theme.
- Design Tools: Participants may use any design tool of their choice; Figma is preferred.
- Development Tools: Participants may use any suitable technology, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, frameworks, or approved no-code platforms.
- Submission: All deliverables must be submitted through the official submission portal within the specified deadline.
- Presentation: Teams must be prepared to explain their ideation, design process, technology choices, implementation, and final product during the showcase.
Rules:
General Rules
- All work must be original and created from scratch.
- Templates, copied websites, plagiarized designs, and previously completed projects are not permitted.
- The final solution must clearly address and reflect the given theme/problem statement.
- Teams must adhere to the specified team size of 1-3 participants.
- Participants must submit their work within the specified deadline to qualify for the subsequent round.
- Participants are responsible for ensuring that their project is functional and ready for demonstration during the showcase.
- Any form of plagiarism or submission of substantially pre-existing work may result in disqualification.
Round 1 - Ideate and Create
- Teams must brainstorm and develop their solution based on the given theme/problem statement.
- Teams must submit wireframes and/or high-fidelity mockups.
- AI tools may be used only for ideation and brainstorming.
- AI must not be used to generate the mockups or design assets.
- The submitted design must be the team's own work.
Round 2 - Bring to Life
- Teams must develop a working and responsive website based on their submitted design.
- The website must include at least one meaningful interactive feature, such as an animation, quiz, form, dynamic interaction, or similar functionality.
- The implementation should maintain consistency with the submitted design.
- AI tools may be used for website implementation, but the final website must reflect the team's own design decisions.
- Any technology or development stack may be used, including coding and permitted no-code platforms.
Round 3 - Showcase
- Teams must provide a live demonstration of their final website.
- Teams must explain:
- The initial idea and brainstorming process
- Problem interpretation
- Wireframes and mockups
- Design decisions
- Team members' contributions
- Technology/stack selection
- Development process
- Interactive features
- Final implementation
- Judges may question participants about any stage of the competition.
- Participants should be able to justify their design and technical decisions.
Tie-Breaker
In case of a tie, design quality, accessibility, usability, and consistency between the submitted design and final implementation will be scrutinized.
