Dragon's Den - Pitch

Description:
Dragon's Den is a startup and innovation pitch competition where aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators present their ideas to a panel of founders, entrepreneurs, industry professionals, and technology experts. Participants will showcase their understanding of a real-world problem, their proposed solution, market opportunity, and the potential of their idea. Shortlisted teams will advance to the Final Round, where they will pitch their ideas and defend their vision before an expert judging panel.
Theme:
- Open Theme - Participants may pitch any innovative startup, business, or technology idea addressing a meaningful problem or opportunity.
Team Composition:
- 1–4 members per team
Round 1 — Submission Requirements:
Teams will be evaluated based on three components:
Text Format:
A brief 5–6 line description of the idea clearly explaining the problem, proposed solution, and key differentiator.
Video Format:
A short introduction to the team/founders covering:
- Who the founders/team members are
- Why they want to pursue the idea
- Why the problem matters to them
- Their vision and motivation behind building the solution
Pitch Deck:
The pitch deck should cover:
- Problem Statement + Proposed Solution
- Market Research & Opportunity
- Customer Persona / Target Audience
- MVP / Initial Product, if possible
- About the Team & Roles
Final Round:
Shortlisted teams will present their ideas before an expert judging panel.
- Pitch Presentation: 5 minutes
- Judge Q&A: 3 minutes
- Transition / Buffer: 2 minutes
- Total: 10 minutes per team
Pitch Requirements:
Teams should clearly communicate:
- The problem being addressed
- The proposed solution
- Target users and customers
- Market opportunity
- Product / MVP
- Key differentiation
- Team and roles
- Vision for the idea
Rules & Regulations:
- Each team must strictly adhere to the allotted presentation and Q&A time.
- Round 1 submissions must follow the prescribed text, video, and pitch deck formats.
- Finalists must present the same core idea submitted during Round 1, with reasonable scope for further development.
- Teams must be prepared to answer questions from the judging panel.
- Timer signals will be used during the final presentation.
- Judges' decisions will be final and binding.
Disqualification Criteria:
A participant/team may be disqualified if:
- The submission is late or submitted after the deadline. - The submitted Google Drive link is inaccessible or does not have the required viewing permissions. - The required Pitch Description or Pitch Video is missing. - The submitted pitch contains plagiarized, copied, or misleading content. - Participants provide false or incorrect information during registration or submission. - Any form of cheating, unfair practice, or manipulation is detected. - The participant/team violates the event rules or code of conduct. - Any inappropriate, offensive, or discriminatory content is included in the submission. - Any attempt is made to interfere with or manipulate the evaluation process.
The organizers' decision regarding disqualification will be final.
