Sell Me This Pen is a fun and fast-paced sales challenge that tests your improvisation, persuasion, and creativity. Participants must sell a random everyday object — like a sock or a paperclip — but with a twist: each pitch has to fit a randomly assigned genre or scenario. Can you convince a superhero to buy a paperclip or sell a sock to a medieval king? With just few minutes to prep and few minutes to perform, this event is all about quick thinking, character, and show-stopping salesmanship! Event Specific Rules: Two Containers: Item Bowl: Slips with random objects (e.g., remote control, shoe, paperclip). Genre Bowl: Slips with random scenarios/genres (e.g., zombie apocalypse, 80s action movie, Victorian tea party). Gameplay Procedure: The Draw – Each participant picks one slip from each bowl (Item + Genre). The Reveal – They announce their challenge to the audience (e.g., "I have to sell a lightbulb in a Western cowboy movie"). Preparation Time – 10 minutes to think (no phones/writing allowed). The Pitch – 4 minutes to deliver their pitch in character. Time Warning – A signal will be given with 30 seconds remaining. Conclusion – The pitch ends strictly at the 4-minute mark. General Rules: Each participant must carry a valid college ID card. Participants must arrive 15 minutes prior for check-in. Late entries/walk-ins will not be entertained. Any form of misconduct, delay, or rule violation will result in disqualification.
