About the Event

RoboSprint 2026 is an RC car racing competition organised by Cretus Robotics Club and S&T at Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), Gandhinagar, as part of Tesseract XII.

Participants must design, build, and operate their own wireless-controlled vehicle to navigate a challenging obstacle course in the shortest possible time. The competition tests vehicle stability, manoeuvrability, traction, driving precision, and obstacle-handling capabilities across different terrains.

Preassembled RC cars, ready-made RC kits, and RC toys are prohibited. Teams are expected to demonstrate their engineering, fabrication, and practical driving skills.

Competition Format

The competition consists of three stages:

Round 1 – Qualifier: All registered teams complete an individual timed run through the obstacle course. The eight teams with the lowest official times qualify for the semi-finals.

Round 2 – Semi-Finals: Qualified teams navigate a more complex track. The five fastest teams advance to the finals.

Round 3 – Finals: The finalists compete on the highest-difficulty track, featuring challenging terrain and obstacles. The three teams with the lowest official times are declared the winners.

Official times include applicable penalties. The exact track layout, checkpoints, and hazards will be revealed on the day of the competition.

Team Composition and Eligibility

  • Each team must consist of 2–4 members.
  • Every participant must carry a valid college ID card for reporting and technical inspection.
  • Only registered team members may handle or operate the vehicle.
  • Only one designated driver may operate the vehicle during a run.

Judging and Penalties

Teams are ranked according to their final official time, calculated as the total run time plus applicable time penalties.

Penalties may apply for repeated off-track incidents and skipped obstacles. Vehicles must follow checkpoints in numerical order, and handlers may reposition a vehicle only with referee approval and according to the official rules.
