Opportunity brief
Overview
Delta Code is an elite, team-based mathematical and computational problem-solving competition designed to rigorously test and elevate mathematical understanding, logical reasoning, computational thinking, and Python implementation skills.
Organized to challenge analytical prowess across multiple high-impact domains, the event brings together brilliant minds from across the country, culminating in an exclusive offline showcase at NIT Warangal during the tech fest.
Key Details at a Glance:
- Team Size: 1–2 students per team
- Eligibility: Open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Platform: Unstop (for registration, preliminary round, and submissions)
- Final Venue: NIT Warangal (for shortlisted winning teams)
Competition Structure:
Round 1 – Online Preliminary Round (Hosted on Unstop):
Teams will face a fast-paced set of challenging mathematical and computational questions covering five core domains:
- Information Theory
- Graph Theory
- Probability
- Linear Algebra
- Number Theory
This round assesses participants' foundational understanding of core concepts, logical reasoning, and their ability to translate mathematical theory into computational logic using Python.
Round 2 – Problem-Solving Challenge:
Based on each team's performance in Round 1, their strongest-performing domain will be identified.
- Each team will receive a specialized, real-world problem statement tailored to that specific domain.
- Tech Stack: Solutions must be implemented in Python, utilizing powerful scientific and mathematical libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, SymPy, and Matplotlib.
- Deliverables: Teams must submit their complete source code, supporting files, results, and deliver an online PPT/demo presentation covering:
- Mathematical formulation & approach
- Implementation methodology
- Results, analysis, and interpretation
Winner Selection & Evaluation:
Winners will be selected strictly based on their performance in Round 2, with core emphasis placed on:
- Mathematical reasoning and rigor
- Correctness and quality of code implementation
- Depth of analysis and interpretation of results
- Presentation clarity and defense of the solution
Offline Presentation & Prize Distribution:
- The top-performing winning teams will be officially invited to NIT Warangal during the college's annual tech fest.
- Selected teams will present and demonstrate their working solutions live in front of an esteemed panel of judges.
- Note: The offline event is dedicated to recognition, live demonstration, and prize distribution, and will not constitute a separate competitive round.
Rules & Guidelines:
- Team Composition: Each team must consist of 1 to 2 students. Only registered members may participate on behalf of the team.
- Registration: Participants must complete registration on Unstop within the announced deadline.
- Round Execution: Round 1 will be conducted entirely online through Unstop covering the specified domains.
- Domain Allocation: Round 2 problem statements will be assigned based on the team's strongest-performing domain in Round 1.
- Implementation Constraints: Solutions for Round 2 must be developed in Python using approved scientific libraries (NumPy, SciPy, SymPy, Matplotlib).
- Submissions: All required source codes, supporting assets, and analysis reports must be submitted within the designated deadlines.
- Presentations: Shortlisted teams must participate in the online PPT/demo presentation and be fully prepared to explain and defend their implementation.
- Integrity: Zero tolerance policy for plagiarism, copied submissions, impersonation, or any unfair means. Violations will lead to immediate disqualification.
- Final Authority: All instructions, timelines, and communications from the organizers must be strictly followed. The decisions of the organizers and judges regarding evaluation and winner selection are final and binding.
